DMT Question - The Effects of Hallucinogens on you and more importantly your skiing...

As a disclaimer, I do not indulge in any way, in the use of psychoactive substances. However I have a friend who is very experienced in the field of psychedelics and would like to know if DMT's afterglow (which usually lasts a couple of days to a week at the most) and the use of other psychedelic substances (off snow) can affect ones concentration, performance in skiing?


1.

Does afterglow present as a distraction when skiing? A feeling of "connectedness" with everything is usually part of the afterglow experience. So would you perhaps feel a little out of it and not willing to really push yourself to hard to do anything?

The flip side of the coin is that after a DMT trip a lot of people are very energetic about what they have learnt, and because the DMT trip was so intense, they feel as if they are indestructible/can take on anything thus leading to a more energetic afterglow with a heightened amount of risk taking behaviour > Better for my friend




My friend is venturing to Breckenridge and Keystone for a few days and wants to make the most of the place and progress his shredding. Will DMT make him more resistant to risk taking?

OR will it most likely have little effect on his mindset and the way he approaches things

Please share any friends' experience they have with skiing and psychedelics

Why not just do it when he's not skiing? He'll probably be able to ski fine the day after but if his goal is to progress or ski as solid as possible then he'll have to choose between the two.

No DMT will not make you a pro skier. Unless you boof it that is.

Fuck I wish that chick didn't take down her video about boofing deemsters. Best thing on the internet for a couple years.

Hallucinogenic drugs are very powerful. They can be amazing tools when used properly. Not saying you can't party with them and that I'm not around that type of vibe all the time, just to respect them. Trying out hallucinogens to get better at skiing really isn't the best idea.

Reminds me of spudz$ jordy(who punched TWall whatever the fuck his NS name is) and me road tripping to whaleback 7 years ago to ski the summer setup.

Maybe it was the climbing up ladders and riding turf and grindbarz, but freestyle skiing was a little too intense honestly. Just left and went hiking instead.

You're better off just making a good playlist, skiing with friends, and sessioning a few features to try and learn some stuff. Maybe film on something for a while and hike it. Once you get in the zone on a feature new tricks come out.

Droogz can be cool and stuff but probably not your ticket to the big time.

He does not want to use the psychoactive substance to progress his freeskiing, but more wants to be able to trip the day before and know it wont disadvantage his freeskiing in the weeks that follow...

He has never experienced afterglow during skiing, that is, skied the day after he has tripped on DMT

all i'll say is don't fuck with DMT. acid, shrooms, and other psychedelics are probably not to be mixed with skiing or any risky activity, but post trip they won't affect you much. And even if afterglow won't really affect your skiing experience (at most you just won't have as much fun, but probably won't even notice that it's different from your previous skiing experiences), don't fuck with DMT. shit can really change you, activates things in your brain that you might regret activating. I'm not at all against it, i'm just saying don't waste a dmg trip on some pre ski fun with friends, dmt is supposed to to be taken with a lot of preparation, meditation, not your average trip. Never do that shit unless you know exactly what you're getting into.
