For my school newspaper I am writing an article about how free-skiing has changed skiing as a sport and I need sources from out of state.

How has skiing as a sport been changed by the creation of free-skiing?

Everybody riding powder and discovering there is more than carving to skiing, rocker in skis,bringing street culture to kiing, olympics etc.
Positive.
Dividing into separate styles/subcultures.

You mentioned the "creation" of freeskiing in your post. I would say that "Freeskiing" was created at the inception of skiing. To ski generally took you away from town/city to begin with. Is it a stretch to say that skiing makes you free? Yes, the sport takes a bit of money to participate in but I think the reason that a lot of us take part in skiing is because it's a release and it's fun as shit.

I have other research but in order to expand upon my article I need peoples opinions. Also by free-skiing I mean primarily park skiing, but im open to interptation.
