What do you love about skiing?

What is it that makes you want to come back to the mountain/setup/streets day after day, risk injury and embarrassment by trying new tricks and waste all your hard earned money on shiny new gear?

I'm going to write an article on this in the next few weeks, just wanted to get some NSers responses to include in it.

I feel free when I ski. Unlike a team sport, its your decision where you want to go with it. On piste, off piste, park, whatever. it frees me of all my worries.

Aside from the actual feeling of being on the mountain, the skiing community is one of the biggest reasons why I love the sport so much. I've met so many great people through skiing and I have progressed so much because of the support I get from other skiers.

When you ski, everything else in your mind kinda just disappears. It's when nothing matters except having a good time with your friends/ yourself.
