Looking for help with ideas

Happy to help with this. The problem is you are only looking at this one-dimensionally. You're only rewarding them for doing a really good job. Motivate them both ways - if they do a bad job, fire them. If they do an only just ok job, put them on probation.

Just having a job should be incentive enough to do well at work. Rewarding people for simply doing their job? Where is my reward for simply waking up today (which was difficult)?

Thanks for the response. In order for them to get a reward they have to be in the top 10% of sales, so there is incentive to not just get the work done but to make more sales than the rest of the employees. I hope this helps give you a better idea of what I'm looking for. I just want to make a video that's funny and shows people competing against themselves and their colleagues to hit the numbers that allow them a free vacation

Are you asking for ideas on how to portray "the idea" you already have in the OP? I'm not totally clear on what you want.

yeah it's kind of hard to describe. I'm just looking for a really short scene to film that makes people laugh and realize that a vacation would be a nice getaway from work. hope that helps!

Play around with characters. If you have multiple characters you can give them personalities or attributes that play in well with this Mayan vacation theme. That's probably your best bet. I'd say three characters would be enough to add some depth to the scene.

Anyways, here's some off the cuff crap that I'll try and type coherently on mobile.

1) All of the employees except one are actually Mayans and the reward will allow them to go home and visit their family. They get hilariously worked up about the potential reward while the one other is like "wtf"

2) The trip is both an incentive and a punishment: those who perform well go and get fanned by palm leaves and fed grapes; those who perform poorly are sacrificed (maybe it was the Aztecs that did that, not sure).

3) Everyone gets super excited about the trip until they realize there will be no accommodation provided once they get there.

4) Everyone is excited except the one guy who has IBS and can't eat Mexican food.

5) The vacation is actually to a Mayan-themed Indiana Jones theme park.

I'll try and come up with some others later.

I love it man, thanks a lot and +K! I like the first idea the best, but they're all great. If you have any others I'd love to hear them. I want the scene itself to be super short (less than a minute) so if you have any dialogue that you think could go with the ideas that would be awesome. Thanks again!

Since we have no idea how the Mayans actually talked, they shouldn't talk at all. I'm imagining a boss walking into a cube farm and making an announcement to four employees, three Mayans and one regular guy. The Mayans are wearing "typical" Mayan clothing while the other schmo is in business casual. When the boss breaks the news, the Mayans get all stoked and high five and the schmo throws his hands up in defeat. You could have him complain to the boss for a little bit while the Mayans celebrate, looking at pictures of loved ones and using google maps to scope out the pyramids.

Cut to some clever titles, then the closing shot is the Mayans and the schmo outside, the Mayans are totally at home in the woods/outdoors whatever and the schmo is wearing some stupid tacky REI safari gear, sweating and cursing and struggling.

The end.
