NS had a female cult back in the day. It was infiltrated by a few guy members back in the day who made fake female accounts. It is a good idea, however there is no guarantee that only girls would use it.

i think it'd be too small to be of any benefit. with the site cracking down on girl-hating, i'd bet you are better off asking whatever questions you have in the regular forums-- they have way more people and really, there are plenty of guys who could help you out in most cases, whether because they happen to know something or cause they ask their female acquaintances for you

I was aware that the PMS cult was the girls-only zone...

Perhaps the ladies need to promote it more? Last time I heard it was basically like a ladies men for just girls and was slightly more dead.

Yeah, we still have PMS and still use it. Sadly it has slowed down over the years just as the other cults have. More members are always welcome.

i've actually always really wanted a women's forum, but with gear, news, athletes, edits and etc info/articles. i'm very much more interested the actual ski aspect for women. maybe it's not "as busy" as the rest of the forums, but that's what i've liked to see for a long time. debated just writing about it myself...but never did.

we do have pms, but it's like a girls only ladies men. i'm fine with women's forum to be honest.

Yeah, if it could be like, it's own mini NS exclusive to ladies, that would be cool, I think. Guys have most of the rest of NS. I think it's fair the chicks have a nugget of their own to escape that madness.

The key is lets start with one forum and go from there. Keep everything wrapped into one place, and it'll make sure activity is higher. If it takes off, then I'll build a whole website around it if I have to.

Can I join this cult? I know I may be a male but any chance to partake in encouraging more woman on NS I would love to be a part of. Plus I think more woman would be wanting to share their content on this cult without fear of condescending male opinions and I would also love to see more killer womans skiing.

i definitely don't think we should close it off to men, because that will only create a rift. i think having another tab in the forums is suitable. i get the whole trying to keep the trolls out.

yeah i'm not opposed to closing off men either, possibly start with ladies and then after a few months open it up to men if it's going well? We'll just have to moderate it closer but that shouldn't be an issue.

I don't think that would work. You can't police if a person who signs up for a pink name is actually a girl or not. Maybe have a stickied thread in the womans forum and pink names can post the names of people they feel aren't as supportive in the womans forum as they should be or are just trolling and permaban them if you feel that the suggestion are warranted. And to stop from other members just posting names onto that thread permaban any member that posts a member to said thread that isn't warranted.

That will be the challenge for sure. We'll see, its simple enough to do and we'll put more resources behind it if it works.

I do want to keep it restricted to pinknames, and start policing the pinknames a bit more. You ladies will drive this bus too, so we'll let you vote on your own rules and how you want people to act.

Interesting how anytime an institutionally oppressed group, women in this case, make any progress, it's seen as unfair to everybody else. Notice that the bar for men is already high while we are scraping the bottom. This isn't special treatment, we're just trying to catch the fuck up.

People should check their privilege (white, male, religious, etc.) before making statements on the group lacking such privilege. It's easy for guys to talk shit because they've never had to feel insecure about their gender approaching any situation.

That's also why "reverse sexism" or sexism towards men is not real. A man will never be made to feel bad about being a man because of his place of societal power.

Last time I purchased a box of tampax (which I assumed lasts about a month?) it cost like 8 or 9 bucks. multiply by 12, and you're looking at around 100$?

...was literally referring to "lady products". ;)
