Brant Moles judging IFSA this year was rough. apparently dropping 30 feet to backslap will get you in top 5.

4frnt had an instagram contest LAST weekend. Only me and 1 other kid reposted the picture for a free hoody. I have twice the amount of followers than hI'm. He had 10 more like than followers. Here's how; NIGGA CHEATED WITH HASHTAGS. How are you about to get 526 likes on a picture wow a hoody when you only post golf pictures with your 10 year old self? I was pissed and hoping 4frnt would see the cheating in action. But they didn't :(

In the Meier skis contest, it was whoever got the most likes, so I got randoms to like it using pages and shit and Meier skis said it wasn't in the contest rules even though there was no rules, but oh well it was kinda of a dick way of winning it.

Back in the day when I was 10,. End season park party. Park crew threw a bunch of free merchandise off the top of the pipe. I caught a giro helmet, and some shitfuck tackled me and took the helmet. Helmet was a little big of or me tho.

It was not actually me who got hard done by but it was due to me, kind of. About 10 years ago I was judging a slope style event at MK. I knew most of the older riders but not the younger ones so much so for them I was going off my start list with bib numbers. There was one kid killing it all night so he was awarded the top prize. At the prize giving they call the name of who was on the list for the number but it was a completly differnt kid. The numbers got messed up so some random kid ended up ontop of the podium instead of the kid whowas killing it. We went an talked to him after though and he was stoked we picked him really.

Last year at a local fair we were playing the game where you throw softballs into those tilted buckets and the max price was a new ps3 if you through in 5 balls in a row. We were getting pretty good at this game and after many tries we finally got it. We were super stoked but then the dude working the station screwed us over and just gave us our money back and told us to leave. We got super pissed and exchange a few nasty words until we got sent away by some like fair guard. Such bullshit

I did a pond skim and they were going to move everyone who made it across slightly closer and keep moving us closer a little bit each time until only one person was left. They were retarded and lazy so during the competition they changed their mind and intentionally had the second round start low enough that no one would make it across. They should be banned from ever running a competition of any type.

At gore back in 06-09 you could win a pair of socks in a comp. I think they had racing skis as the top prize in a rail jam once too.

Also I paid 10 bucks to enter a rail jam after I stopped working there and wasn't getting scored cause johara didn't like me. I think I backflipped all the rail takeoffs and then got officially banished from the comp and went back to the park.

Other than that I think I've always had good times at rail jams.

The night before a pond skimming contest at Oak 2 years ago I called my buddy up drunk and had him cut my hair. Went from a decent amount below shoulder length into a legit mullet. Also snagged some jeans and cut some super short daisy dukes like 5 inches long. Drank genny's all morning while waxing my board in the shop. Cleared the pond in my daisy dukes with a 24 ounce genny in my hand. I think I drank some halfway across too.


Also for the registration they asked you who your hero was and mine was Joe Dirt. Honestly though it was a winner. Got at 5 out of 10 for costume I go the crowd amped up and the judges booed and got bumped up to a 7. Some girl with a swimsuit on got an 8 out of 10(also not talking hot chick in bikini. Full piece and not quite a solid 7) Also other scores up in that range like 6 or 7 for people in normal clothes. Basically my costume was so legit that they though it was how I normally looked. Also they clearly didn't no who joe dirt was.

Owners thought I got screwed and gave me a gift certificate to a ski shop that was in the prize pool so it was legit. I just wanted to win, for my man JD.

I got put into the final round at a railjam with a friend once because we were really high and went to slow on a box, crashed, and had a full on swordfight at the bottom with our skis

went to a rail jam last season in a city in NH where there was a well known skiing celebrity judge who had been drinking, i had been doing pretty well, and thought i could win. at the time i was un-sponsored and the first prize was a ski sponsor. When the judge called out who had made the finals, i was not on the list, my friends and i were very surprised. one of my friends started chanting "Blue sweatshirt, blue sweatshirt!" and the crowd started chanting along (that is how he called the people into the finals, by what they were wearing). anyway there were some other reps who were there that noticed me and i got sponsored by a boot company and the shop running the comp. Not mad though, did not go in thinking i had to win, just wanted to have fun and if i happen to get a sponsor, awesome, if not i can buy my own shit. Was still a really fun comp, and that's what skiing is all about.

in an end of the year rail jam i did some 270s on, presses, switch ups, all that shit.

then me and 2 other kids were trying 450s on. i was the only one to land it.

then i 540'd onto a box.

then this kid does a sketchy front 630 and he gets 1st.

apparently a twitter fight ensued with my friends saying i got robbed but i dont fuck around with twitter.
not even mad he won elan skis with shitty bindings that weren't center mounted.

One time I tied for 9th place at a US Worldcup so they averaged 9th and 10ths prize money. The dude who tied with me was from Australia and got like $150 taken out for taxes. Sux 2 suc

Not really that bad honestly. Unless it was a big mountain with $. I won a tshirt for once at a real small hill and I was happy just to get something for my $5 entry.

Backpack sounds legit. Unless the comp was expensive, massively sponsored, or the mountain was rich I'd say you didn't get ripped off.

And medals are overrated. That said I one a trophy for first place at a rail jam once, nothing else just a trophy like the baseball ones. Honestly thought it was pretty sweet though. Only snowboarding trophy I've won or probably even seen so was stoked with it.

I won a new pair of Salomon Suspects at Woodward at Copper summer camp once, they took them back and gave me junior googles that were way to small because "the skis are too big on you but they fit the 3rd place kid"

At Breck 5 till 5 rail jam they said they were giving out a Go Pro and a free Season Pass to the top finishers, I came in second and was stoked to get one or the other, but apparently not enough people competed (which is bull) so they saved the season pass. I got a 6 pack of red bull

A few years back at a premier for a Rage film I got cut in line getting in. You got a raffle ticket at the door and the woman who cut in front of me won a pair of line blends then proceded to say that she was an artist and didn't even ski... It's a little bit off topic but I'm still bitter for my highschool self.

rotations onto rails are harder than rotations out. landing on features after spinning you have to land very precisely, you can huck your shit so easily out of rails because you can drift and still land easily.

Dude! Exact same thing happened to .Washington! Some mom who average 24 likes per pic with 400 followers got something like 546 likes on a pic of matt sterbenz bald head in a hoodie lol. (Respect to matt) anyway we contacted 4frnt about it and they said unless we have 100% proof they couldn't do anything about it. We also contacted the person who won and she blocked us. Lol.

That being said I've had the best of luck. I've won panda poles, instagram contests, and a bunch of other stuff.
