Planning on building a jump in my backyard. Is this in run long enough?

The possible in run:



I was wondering if this is long enough. I plan on trying to do basic tricks such a 360 or a 180. Nothing special I just want to learn how to do at least one of them. I could add a rail if the in run cannot get me enough speed for a jump.

You'll be way short on speed. To really have a decent jump you need a ton of speed.

I think I could set up something with bungee cords to sling myself out and onto the stairwell. Do you think it could at least work on a rail?

Yes OP you'll probably too much speed to be prepared for a couple speed checks

Oh yeah you'd be fine for a rail for sure.

I mean you'll have to try it and see what happens. Bungee could work, but you'd have the problem of airing over the stairset if you got too much speed.

I always wanted to up the ante on my backyard setup and build a jump. My dad suggested investing a few bucks and actually buying scaffolding.

If you got a couple of sections of that you could build a wicked drop tower. THen make your jump a super kicky BMX style jump and bam you're gold.

what my neighbors did was they put snow all up to their roof and had a roof that ended 5 ft off of the ground so they used that as their run in and it was on a hill so the roof was the run in and the hill at the bottom of the roof was the landing. If i had a picture i would show but they moved and got replaced by horny grandparents

Well what I think I would do is build a ramp off the stairs that leads down onto the jump. It would basically be one continuous pile of snow until the jump. Down the stairs, merging with the patio then the jump would probably be at the edge of the patio leading into the yard.

Take a side angle of the stairs.

hahaahhaha wow that is a lot of work for a 2 foot kicker. not worth it for something so tiny, do it somewhere else w/ natural speed
