Looking for raw footage for editing.

Got some spare time and want to get some editing practise on final cut pro X down. Send in raw footage and ill make an edit with colour correction and all. and yes I know filming it is part of the whole practise but I don't really have that choice unfortunately.

Best thing you can do in final cut x to improve your editing ability is uninstall it. I know is not quite as bad as the original release, but for me it is way to similar to imovie. One thing many people didn't like is that it creates self contained files. They take up a ton of disk space and messed with many peoples file storage/workflow.

If you would like footage though, check out momentum's account on Vimeo. They put up tons of raw footage for a contest a while back and made it all free to download.

yeah thats a fair shout about FCPX but its the best I could get and from stuff I'v done with it so far its still a big step up from imovie. Also I had a look at momentums vimeo I dont think there footage is still up unless im just being blind.

But yes final cut X works for sure, but its a meh program.

ohh right yeah, I keep using it for now until I think iv out learned it then find a better one. I know its bit typical but I am just trying to get a little portfolio but I also do it for fun and wanted to see if I could help out some people at the same time.

na not really cause iv got it now so ill learn what i can from this then when iv got the money to get a better one I will get it having learnt something from it, but seriously cheers for your consern

i don't think it means footage shot in RAW, just some original unedited clips to work with in his NLE software
