Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

This girl that I work with really bothers me.

She apparently has a nursing degree yet just took the CNA course. She says all that she needs to do is take the NCLEX to become an RN. But today she didn’t even know what a catheter was... RN’S ARE SUPPOSED TO INSERT THESE THINGS INTO PEOPLES PEE HOLES AND SHES NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE??? When speaking about edema and swelling she asked what that was and why it happens...(this is taught in anatomy/physiology 1 your first semester of school..) She doesn’t understand basic care concepts and I truly don’t know how she made it through the CNA class, let alone a degree program.

She also is super set on speaking spanish all the time because it is HER language and not speaking her language is discrimination.

I’ll tell you what, speaking ENGLISH to an ENGLISH speaking dementia patient can agitate them. They are confused in a way we may never really understand and you speaking Spanish with your coworker in that patient’s room about something unrelated to the resident is going to deeply scare/disorient them and confuse them further.

Even a neurologically stable patient who speaks English is going to be confused and might assume you are speaking poorly of them if you speak Spanish in their room.

She knows English and I find it disrespectful to exclude patients from conversation. Not to mention it is a kardex violation because their care plans state to communicate with them in English.

Spanish speaking patients care planned to be spoken to in Spanish? GO FOR IT! That’s great! You are one of few people who can effectively communicate with them and that is extremely valuable! On break is totally fine too but to say we’re all racist when you’re offered a translater is fucking absurd.

Today a patient almost fell/ was dropped because I don’t speak spanish and this girl and our trainer speak exclusively in Spanish and I have no idea what they are telling me to do nor what they are talking about. So apparently they said they were lifting but I don’t know that so the patient rolled toward me suddenly and luckily I caught them before rolling off the bed. I never made eye contact or acknowledged what was said (because I don’t know) and they went anyway.

I hate to be the person that says that the official/business language at our facility is English but it fucking is. So if we could stop giving directions in Spanish that would be fucking great.

I can’t get my airline ticket refunded but I can change its date, which isn’t bad but for fucks sake, when will I be able to go? My boss will not tell me, I think I should be able to go in september, but need to know soon do I can change my flight, find lodging, etc.

Instagram skiing is such a weird thing. On one hand, i love all the insane footage we get to see right at our fingertips literally and stuff like zootspace, drinkbutter, altadonkeys, etc.; Crews making fun little 30 second edits or whatever with dope skiing, but then we have a bunch of hosers making money off of "building their brand" like Sierra and many, many others.

Its a noble cause to fight for, yes. I'm all for things that POW is doing especially at a government level, but we gotta stop acting like everyone can do no wrong and some people arent also in it for the dollars.

yeah i mean fair enough. If its highschool your still in, They basically just teach you the basics of everything so you can learn how to commit to something and finish it. It's more of a life lesson than it is education. Hang in there man, it might just come up in small talk one day!

Basically a fundamental class to use as a foundation for any degree and profession that even remotely deals with science, including outdoor jobs. Pretty rudimentary and not a bad idea so you aren't a retard about how living things work.

A patient got extremely nasty with her today for speaking in spanish around her, called her ignorant and inconsiderate to the elderly and demanded a new CNA 3 feet away from the supervisor(the supervisor that we met about 15 minutes prior to this..suuuuper aaawkward) I kind of felt this would happen sooner or later, probably good that it did now.

Drive all the way into your yard to park and the cops shouldn’t be able to ticket you.

Unfortunately, yes they can. I am in a gated community and they are super strict on the available parking. I am about to remove the grass and pour concrete for a front yard.lol

The HOA can enforce the rules and regulations without need of police authority. If one reads the often massive document it can outline everything from parking to the size of you mailbox. Some HOAs are filled with assholes looking to annoy people with petty issues and some are chill and more like a housing management collective.

This place is giving me fucking soul cancer and I’m in complete awe that everyone here doesn’t collectively all hate their lives. They don't just withdraw tickets, chances are they won't send a warrant - you probably won't be able to renew your license or registration with fines under your name though and will rack up a shit ton of late fees. Not worth not paying it off or going with the payment plan imo

Can't stand city drivers. Half the people are texting on their phones swerving left or right. Others are driving like it's the Autobahn; no the speed limit is 55mph not 90mph bud... The rest are foreigners who drive like they're still in said foreign country, all erratic and shit. And 90% of people don't know how to merge. Merging at 45mph into a 70mph highway is rediculously dangerous yet I have to do it nearly every day because I'm behind folks setting the pace when merging. If it's a semi in front of me, I've had to merge as slow as 35mph into a 70mph zone....

Then you've got your rubberneckers. The people who slow down to look at the accident on the other side of the concrete barrier. The folks who drive slow because a cop pulled someone over. Ffs just go! I got places to be.

Then you've got old people. Fugggggggg. Just out for a cruise during rush hour. No where to be, got all the time in the world. First things first, grandma, you probably shouldn't even be driving at all in your condition. Secondly, lets try to at least go the speed limit. Uber drivers tend to fit into this category as they usually go the speed limit in the fast lane creating an enormous line of cars.

Then late nights and weekends you have your drunk drivers..... EVERYWHERE. You people are worthless excuses for life.

Cause oh my fucking God Utah drivers are dog shit, and not to sound rude but half the time on the hwy the people going 5-10 under are southern foreigners, then the rest are mormons who go 65 in the left lane. Once rain falls, boy do they forget what a car even is I swear, so fucked.

Damn! Yeah, they wont send you a warrant, they will just get you when you go to renew a license or register a car, somewhere that little ticket will come around to haunt you. Best to take care of it now if you can before you go to do something simple and it comes up, believe me, i have tried what you are doing and it bit me in the ass. They will get your money sooner or later. Hope the collarbone is healed and well! and fuck HOA's!!

^ I tried to just not pay 2 parking tickets in Eugene and like a year later I got a boot while legally parked in a neighborhood in a spot with no parking rules. Said they just periodically troll neighborhoods running plate #s

Attitude is like yeah my car already has tires and my brain is full. On the one hand their snow is usually so dry it just blows off the road and they get away with it. On the other hand it is just fucking stupid and asking for disaster to not be prepared for ice.

Going down to salt lake from park city I encountered so many fwd cars without snow tires or chains just stuck uphill on the highway, where that morning there was probably a flashing sign saying fuck off if you dont have awd or snow tires.

True. Reasonable but Im not paying them shit. Sucks that you can't even contact anyone about it though.

I've gotten $20-30 fines a couple times. At least 1 total bullshit but just paid it. 130 or whatever the hell it is is just bullshit.

I would just work Europe/Southern Hem before I'd pay them.

Everyone 5 stars anything where they dont get murdered. "I didnt die so ill rate it 5 stars".

On the flip side if anything makes them angry like the quality of free coffee, the color of the persons hair helping them, etc its a 1 star.

Pretty much impossible to guage anything from it. I wish people weren't shit at reviewing.

Yeah I usually start by reading the one star reviews. Many times I think, oh that person is too picky and that's not a big deal.
