I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

ngl, think rampage 2021 was slightly..underwhelming? I hope Van Steenbergen is okay - his frontie was the only thing that really had me out of my seat. Really missed Andreu and Brendog, always a wild time with those two…and I'm
sure Brage would’ve brought a lot to the table too.
Also, one massive shame, I think we’ve just witnessed the end of duel crowns at Rampage… the transition to slopestyle truly began today.

True, but the bikes are clearly now capable, and allows riders to a perform a heap of new tricks not previously available, so they have a massive advantage. The sad truth is from now on, if you want to win Rampage I think you will need to take your single crown rig with you.

Meh there was a mix in the past, it's only been the last few years that everyone was on dc and now sc happened to come back. Sorge tail whipped a drop in like 2010 on a glory iirc. This isn't some huge revolution

Do you really think the amplitude of the riding will go down? I think that this just means tailwhips and barspins are now do-able in rampage. I highly doubt this will become a slopestyle comp

I would personally love to see some x-up drops too. That would be badass

No, I don’t think the amplitude will drop off. My point is single crowned bikes, now with 180mm travel on forks more capable than they have ever been, have finally got to the point where they can pretty much match the duel crowns. So as they are far much “trickable” I think riders will start to move towards them next year. To allow for this, kickers, lines and landings will have to become even more manicured and perfectly built.

Yeah you do have a point there. But the judges still give a bunch of points for technicality so i still think there will be lots of “raw” lines and super techy chutes in the future

I'm not saying they won't be, just that riders switching between riding dc and sc forks has happened before and we shouldn't be all sensational about it. It adds more range of possible tricks at a slight cost of stiffness, I don't understand why that's 'sad'. Riders certainly weren't breaking totems in 2008, either, so I disagree that this is because riders are only now able to use a single crown fork.
