Yea im not afraid to say that i used to race a bit and trained and when i went to park i was learning tricks in no time becuz my fundamentals were solid. Not to mention obviously n e good racer will be a solid skier and it just looks so much better when approaching jumps to have good form. Racing is tits!




Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

I didnt say it helps me i just think good crisp skiing looks better, and the fact that i can smoke you on any run and still embarass you in the park makes me more diverse in skiing than yourself. Racers dont suck, they are just our 'special friends.' Most racers are pretty solid skiers, and they kick my ass when we are out big mountain.

So for the sake of saving everyone money ill just end the argument now. Your friend is ignorant for what I can only assume is a dis on racers. Racing is extremely difficult and challenging in itself. I myself haven’t raced since I was 12 and would never go back but for ppl like yourselves who don’t enjoy racing that’s fine but at least have respect for it!

racing is not my cup of tea. but why race when your only mountain is like 200 ft tall. mtbrighton.com going all around and park is what i do here and on vacations. racing...ew. its not fun. getting super aerodynamic and going a millisec faster than everyone else in a sport that should be fun.

There's nothing wrong with racing, it's just a different form of skiing. Just like you might hit the same table over and over trying to stick a 9 with style, you ski the same gates trying to perfect your turns.

I grew up in the Northeast (lots of ice, no powder) We didn't have parks and were always getting hasled for making jumps. So I started racing at the end of highschool, continued thru college...
Now that parks are commonplace, I love them and spend the majority of my time there. (I still race 1 night per week though) It is kinda sad to see so many kids that can't turn for shit though i the park -yet they continue to rip on racers calling it 'gay' wtf?.

I don't see why you can't do it all if that's what you enjoy.
I see the same attitude in Wakeboarding / Slalom skiing in the summer... I do both, they both require skill and practice and can be equally difficult, just in a different way.

Drop the attitude and ski!

Racing teaches you how to ACTUALLY ski...not hang your hands down to your ankles all hunched over. This year I've seen so many kids on twins who try to ski the entire mountain w/ gorilla steeze. it's disgusting. Learn how to ski before you head into the park kiddies....

I don't hate racers, I am indifferent towards them, our different ciriculum's in the sport are so different that is almost like 2 different sports. but they do look gay as hell in the spandex suits for sure

At my mountain, killy, anyone who doesnt race pretty much hates racers (unless they're hot chicks, cuz thats just hot when they wear their spandex :D). They're always racing on the good trails and they're really ignorant. They're so headstrong, it pisses me off. They give themselves the bad rep.
