30+ feet?

The reason you fell is because you popped with your tips which ultimately threw you into the backseat. You need to compensate for the pitch of the landing by popping more from your tails. This will give you a slight forward lean as you clear your obstacle and should set you up to land with your body perpendicular to the landing surface.
