Just listened to some Sum 41 for no reason and remembered how much better that movement was than EDM.


Just through on some yellowcard(Don't that's my jam) and might even wonder back to some NFG to finish off the night.


Anybody else miss pop punk bands?

There's a New Found Glory album coming at the end of the month, kinda hyped. Could go either way but NFG are generally pretty solid.

I've been listening to the Broilers album (sic!) a bunch since it came out. It's in German but worth checking out if you can live with that. I'm also liking Creeper's debut full length, though it isn't exactly pop punk it has a lot of the DNA, I'd recommend giving some tracks a listen. The new CJ Ramone album is alright, jury is still out on whether it grows or gets annoying, I'm a couple of plays in on that right now. And there's new Real Mckenzies too which sounds pretty much like a solid but unremarkable poppy celtic punk record from the first listen, still good. I'm definitely stoked on the revival of the sound though, there was a barren patch for a while.

dkirseAnyone listen to State Champs, Real Friends, or Moose Blood?

Three bands I've been super into lately. Great music to jam to while driving or skiing - Moose Blood is maybe better to cry to, but to each their own.

Also desperately waiting for Neck Deep to put out some new stuff.


Just started listening to real friends again recently and now 50% of the time I'm jamming to them on the drive home

DUUUDE listen to the new fall out boy song. It's so bad, I like seriously was upset. When I was in high school (05-08) they were sooo good. This new song is just fucking tragic.

State Champs just dropped their deluxe version of Around The World and Back and the live songs and acoustic songs are SO GOOD.

Also anyone ever checked out a band called Homesafe? They're so tight and sound like a combo of Knuckle Puck and Real Friends.

act.resistyeah it's sort of similar. but peripheral vision is dream pop whereas title fight's latest albums are more shoegaze. honestly i wouldn't classify peripheral vision as pop punk at all. title fight could be argued. music genres r hard

Definitely looking forward to the album, going to try not to over listen to the new tracks (which are great) so they aren't doing my head in by the time the album drops. Also, props on the state champs recommendation higher up, the acoustic and live songs are indeed, dope.

I'm also pretty hyped for the Rancid album on June 9th.

I still think this. mostly because their new song "in bloom" is super tight. It's not really classic neck deep style, but it's definitely still killer.

In Bloom is a fucking jam. People hating on it because, and i quote, "it's too mainstream" but in reality it's their most mature release yet. Such a well refined sound they have going on with this I can't wait for the album. This might be the one that gets me back into pop punk honestly I haven't been drawn in to an album since What You Don't See.

It's seriously so good. Get back into pop punk! There's a lot of bands out in this genre with sweet sounds lately.

I know some of these have probably been mentioned in the 4.5 pages of this thread I didn't bother to read but I used to and sometimes still listen the hell out of some Saves the Day (first three albums) Fifteen, Screeching Weasle, NFG amongst others. Another band called Fairweather out of the DC scene was awesome and highly underrated imo.

I used to attend Warped tour shows around the turn of the millennia but mostly to see hardcore and post-hardcore bands. Damn I'm fucking old

Warped Tour announced this upcoming year will be its "last coast to coast run" which kinda sucks, I haven't gone in years, but I know some people out there have goals of playing warped as it was just THAT festival to get on. The way they worded it "last coast to coast run" makes me think they'll do some type of "warped east. west, south" type deal with shows in major cities where the draw is worth it. Truly the end of an era though.

I've been pretty big into pop punk the last few years because my boss at work was in a band at it was all we listened to at work. It's still pretty popular in western Canada apparently, Open Letters, a local band from the Vancouver are pretty damn good. I still have never attended. Closest stop was 3.5 hours away. Maybe Ill catch one this year even though im old.

I would still love to see them. Apparently they toured with yellowcard a few years ago within an hour drive of me and none of my friends told me.

Been rocking my yellowcard pandora recently again at work. Fucking miss that band. Even though they blew up when they got mellower and more emo it was still good.

Plays a mix of pop punk, rock ish stuff, emo, and hardcore.

Dude I've been listening to it constantly lately, too! Such a good album. They're from my hometown so it's always fun to listen to them and recognize little things in the lyrics.

Also is anybody on here from SF and going to the knuckle puck or neck deep shows in spring? Or the ATL show in Reno? Need some peeps to go with!
