Advice for new tripod head (

Looking to buy a new head for my tripod (frotto 190xprob) to use for video. I'm looking at the 701 and 501s by manfrotto but interested in other options. I've been using a cheap weifang 717 head but it's turned to shit and gotten beaten up. What kind of stuff should I look at in the price range of under $300 or so? Would the $150 701 work well or would i be better off with something more expensive?
Upgrading the legs isn't out of the question as well, wouldn't be against getting a bowl mount or something else.

Using a t2i with mostly midrange/wide lenses, but I'm saving up for a 70-200 in the future if that helps.
