Line Skis 14-15 help/question

Hey I have a couple questions about the next year's line skis. I am looking at the sick day 110 and the blend as a two ski quiver and I was wondering if any changes have been made between this year's model's and next year's other than graphics? The line catalogue doesn't mention any changes that I can see. If they are not changed I might as well grab this year's of each since I like the graphics better.

Also, do the sick days seem like a good ski for me? I have been skiing atomic blogs for two years now and they have been great but right now I am wishing they were a little stiffer. I am 6'1" 180lbs and I ski mostly pow and crud in the northwest. I don't often spin but I like a more playful ski. Would the sickdays in 186 and the blends in 185 be a good choice?

By "new" core it's just the old macroblock core again, not the macroblock lite.

As for the sickday yeah they would be good. The sick days were lines best skis this year by far. They felt light and lively which is not somthing you can normally say about line. They were fast edge to edge and had enough stiffness to throw them into turns. They will be slightly stiffer then the blog so a better all mnt performance.

All I would say though is your going for two pretty similar skis. I also don't really rate the blend there are quite a few mid width all mnt skis which are much better.

Personally I would go 100mm allot ski then I would go opus magnum. All the best parts of the sickday but in a wider more powder orientated ski.

I wouldn't. The old macroblock cores are hugely better than the macroblock lite core, which snaps... a lot.

Sick days don't have anything like the jibbing capabilities of the Blog, they also won't give you a ton more float than the Blends in a 110, to me the quiver doesn't make much sense. If you are ok with a less jibby ski, I'd get the bigger width of sick day. If not, I'd get the Opus. For days when you wouldn't necessarily take a pow ski, the Blend is wide enough.

I loathed the 178 macroblock lite core Blend in everything but powder, where I actually thought they skied pretty well. For everything else I folded up the tail and nose all the time... they really are incredibly soft in the nose and tail. The old blend was better before they changed the core, it was still soft but had a much smoother flex transition, rather than the incredibly soft-mid-stiff-incredibly soft pattern of the macroblock lite models.

Like Twig said, avoid macroblock lite. It will snap.

Dang, had a reply all written and lost it. I think the sick days look perfect for me since I am not really a jibby skier, I jump a lot but don't really spin and all the reviews have said they were super lively which I like. I also have never felt like I needed more than the 110 mm waist of the blogs on deep days and I do have hell bents for any crazy deep days.

The reason I am attracted to the blend is it reminds me of a fatter salomon twenty twelve which I really liked. It would be my park ski as well as being used a lll mountain when its al tracked out and I'm feeling jibby . I see what you are saying about quiver overlap but the way I was looking at it was using one as more of a charger/ traditional all mountain ski and one as a ski to make the whole mountain a park. If this is a bad idea, as you said what else would you suggest looking at? I would be interested in the magnum opus but I use my pow skis for almost everything and I don't get the deep days it seems to be made for that often

If your after a fatter twenty twelve then salomon have you covered this season with the rocker 100. Should suit your needspretty well, or there is still the remix in the range.

That looks sick! unfortunately gotta stick with line. It seems like people either love or hate the blend, there's a bunch of super positive reviews out there for it but all my advice has been negative, haha

I have the 2012 Blend and absolutely love it! It's a wide-ish ski that is stable in pretty much every condition besides hard chop. It's super playful and fun to press/butter on anything around the mountain. I rip this ski on groomers all day (switch as well), ark, and pow and it crushes everything. Highly recommend it.

I now have the Opus as my pow ski so I can't wait to try it out next season.

i would just stay away with line completely i dont know about you but almost everyone at my home hill has delammed within about 30 days of riding. they do ride park but I'm sure if u hit a tree they wont hold up. just my experience with line. also ive seen the armada bubba, armada jj and rossignol soul seven on sale for 50% off on a lot of sites thats what i would go with

I've ridden 60+ on mine HARD and no problems here.

Your experience of OTHER people on your hill obviously isn't your experience, it's theirs. And they must not know how to ski or treat their gear like shit if they're delaminating their skis within 30 days.

Interesting, I heard from a local rep the cores on the Future Spin, Chronic and Blend were being changed up.

In that case OP, for what you are talking about, I'd get the SFB for playful days. It's just a much better ski than the Blend in every way.

Why get two skis so similar? Get a pow ski that's around 120mm underfoot for when the snow is good, and get a ski with an on-piste focus for when the snow sucks.

maybe our hill is just cursed but ive witnessed a couple kids delamming them on simple stuff just my opinion they dont seem very reliable to me

i have this years line sick day 110 in a 186, and last years line blend in a 185, i fucking love both of them, although i do wish the sick day had a slightly more forward mounting position, blends i would take literally anywhere, awesome in the trees, they did chatter quite a bit on groomers because of how soft they are, but they are just so damn playful, and for reference i am an aggressive skier, 5'9 170lbs, love going fast and i love skiing hard in the trees, tons of natural jibs, the sick days i would only really take out when it snowed 10+ which on the east coast happened more often than not this year, but i love them as a 2 ski quiver
