Seriously, christians are the majority in this country(i know you cant speak for all of them) and they look the other way when adultury happens. they look the other way when premarital sex happens.

Purely by the numbers, it would be damn easy to pass laws outlawing these sins. the reason they dont is because only a VERY small percentage of christians look upon these acts as actual sins anymore. Why do you think christians as a whole have held onto Homosexuality as a sin, while disregarding other sins?

No I'm not, that article cited a study from here: http://www.achess.org.au/ which is a comprehensive study on the lives of children raised in same sex households. I realize you think you're right but those claims are baseless and I'd argue substantiated by stereotypes. What kind of things does a hetero family offer to a child that a homosexual couple is incapable of? I realize you're not accusing them of being bad parents but I don't see where your claim is coming from

Because we can't outlaw sin. And even if we did it wouldn't do much, people would go on doing it. We have no need to judge people on their sins, God will take care of that. That's why I'm not super worried about gay marriage being legal. Sure I think it's wrong but I'm not in the power to tell people how to live. I will give advice but i am no authority

thats where i am coming from. Look into any pediatric physchology and you will find out how important a male and female role model is to a developing child.

All i have ever said is that a homo parenttal unit is not ideal.

Why does christian america not care at all about premarital sex(instead glorifies it), and doesnt care about adultury. Yet, they are very passionate about the topic of homosexuality?

I honestly am struggling to even respond to this, how old are you? People invented modern conveniences to make the world a better more accessible place, there is absolutely no reason for us to regress technologically. If life was so great without these modern miracles then people wouldn't have attempted to create them. I just don't understand how you connect these dots in your head.

That's a good one. Personally I think that sex is meant for marriage, but obviously this country doesn't think so. The only explanation as to why Christian America doesn't care about premarital sex is either because they don't know it's wrong, or because many people who profess to be Christians in this country really don't seem like they are. It's easy to say you're a Christian but its hard to live it out. So if you want to know if someone is a Christian or not you should be able to tell by the way they act/live.

he is saying go to a place where everything isnt man made and man controlled. you will see the power of nature, and experience things that are difficult to explain. He more than likely thinks that this will prove to you that there is a higher power controlling things. Its powerful to be out all on your own, and believing in a higher power is a comforting thing.

Indeed the inventions were a great idea. But we live such wasteful lives.. Cellphones were an amazing invention for productivity but there are people who spend many hours a day playing games on them. Playing candy crush is not productive. Playing candy crush is technically wasted energy because the person is not getting anything useful done. Playing candy crush/other games is leisure. We live lives filled to the brim with leisure

Give me substantiated facts as to why you think you're right and maybe I'll waver. I didn't speak any bullshit. I just go off of facts and logic. I subscribe to the believe that you can't give something that's not there. If we continue to go on as we are, we are going to reach a point where we are consuming and giving away more then we produce, and it is at this point that we will fail.

Good fucking god are you some sort of 16 year old self professed savant who thinks he knows everything about society's rights and wrongs? If some person plays candy crush and finds it in some way fun or gratifying more power to him. If playing a game of candy crush makes someone happy then it isn't wasted energy in the least. You getting your rocks off to the Old Testament doesn't invalidate someone else doing a self indulgent activity to make them happy. I'm going to guess you have qualms with modern state of movies and music too?

so your christianity is different from others, right? its your own interpretation. Your religon is your own personal relationship to god.

A denomination is like a political party- you pick the one that most closely matches what you believe in, but not every tenant of that denomination is something you believe in. Unfortunately, most people stick with the religon that they had no choice in, the one they were born into.

Without truly exploring the many religons, and honestly giving them a try, how will you ever know if the denomination/religon you were born into fits you the best?

Everyone has doubts about their belief- that is an accepted fact. Why not embrace that fact and explore those doubts. You may realize you dont believe in the same things you did 5 years ago, or you may realize how much you do believe in your current belief system, and that belief will be reinforced.

You will realize that your belief isnt a universal truth, and your belief shouldnt be enforced on others. If you are a true christian work to make the lives of others better- do it through acts of kindness and charity. Dont do it through restrictions and laws. Do it by helping the poor, and lifting up the beaten down. Dont do it throug oppression, and shaming.

Spread the love. Make lives better. Realize that everyone is different, and thats okay. After all, God made them that way.

I've gone to church at many different denominations and they are all pretty much the same, all of them have the same general principles that all Christians believe. They just disagree on little things. Like what type of music they play

Lutheran off the top of my head. My old church has a flamingly gay choir director.

You must live in a really sheltered area if you havent seen churches with out-gay members. It is extremely common.

Really? Dude, i totally get that you are from minnesota and grew up in a predominantly scandenavian area where everyone is white, tall, and christian.

But you seriously think that Christians are any more passionate about their religon? Seriously? I understand you dont have these religons around you, but a little common sense, or a basic knowledge of the world would prove that assumption to be wrong.

If you have VERY limited experience in something, try not to make general assumptions. It will make you look silly.
