Ballet Skiing Was Freakin Awesome

Came across these videos today. Never even knew this existed. It was an Olympic sport in the 1988 and 1992 games. My only question is, WHY IS THIS STILL NOT A THING???

I was once in a slopestyle contest in Michigan in the early 2000s, and an old ski ballet guy entered the contest. We could select the music for our runs (which lasted about 30 seconds on the course), so that was dope. This guy drops a classical song and spends about five minutes skiing through the slopestyle course, tricking every conceivable bump in the run. He tricked the lip of the jump, then tricked the knuckle. And at the end of the day, he was pissed when he didn't win, and told the judges "I did more tricks than anyone else on that course."
