Pornography for a Seasons pass

Some guy called me today after I posted my freelance services on Craigslist (Film production) and he asked me if I'd be interested in "Partnering up and filming adult videos". I had no idea what to say at the time so I told him I'd call him back after I gave it some thought.

Now I'm fairly broke at the moment, and within 7 days, the price of a seasons pass is going to shoot up from $499.00 to $799.00 Which is f**king ridiculous (Stevens pass)

So i'm under some pressure to acquire money, and to do it quickly. I spent my entire life trying to be a good person, not stealing, not selling drugs, not shooting porn..
But this maybe the first time I'm going to have to break a few of my moral codes just to get a seasons pass within a week.


is there another way I can go about getting a pass? something that doesn't require me to lose my dignity?

or should i just steal drugs and sell them to the porn stars i'm filming

Well that's what I was told so I decided to do some research. Average Australian salary as of September 2013 is 84,000. Average US as of 2011 is just under 43,000. So unless the average US salary doubled in the last two years Australians far out earn Americans.

And my point wasn't that you guys are better off, my point was that the increased cost of living in Australia is countered by the increased average pay so the ratio of salary to cost of living is probably pretty similar to that of the US

Well if we go straight average wage = cost of living ratio (It's probably not correct but I am way too tired to look up the numbers and figure out the real ratio) you are paying more but by not much

the reason we get ripped off here, isn't because of our cost of living, it's because the whole market is monopolised and we have  like only 3 embarrassing ski resorts. our season lasts for 3 months if it's a good year, and most of the time it's just a mixture of grass and snow and rocks and holes. not complaining i still go as often as i can... but 799 seems pretty decent to me,  even tripple it and i'd still rather that then what i got... plus i plan ahead, make sure i do whatever i can to afford to go down...

if it means shooting porno, then so be it.

Also, skiing in Australia is such a small community, they can charge what they like, we don't have a choice. America, if one hill costs an arm and a leg, you can go to the one down the road. We don't have that here. Like it or lump it, basically.

manhatten, usa's most expensive city got, drum roll please 43rd (just as a reference)

then again i can't verify any of these claims, if you wish to debunk them, then feel free.. just saying, i thought 799 was a fair price, and considering i earn probably considerably less then your aveage wage living here, I believe my claim has some merrit

Well that's true in certain parts of America but where I am now there's 2 (I think, maybe 3 but the third is crazy far away if it exists) ski resorts in the state. The first is an hour away and the second is 5 hours away so I really only have one viable option but yeah around tahoe and in colorado there are a shit ton of resorts you can go to

mate, my closest is 6 hourse away, in winter i leave every friday night and come back on sunday night. Don't get me wrong, i'm not playing the hard done by look at me story, but here we just get the shit end of the stick... our country is hot and flat. only ever seen one powder day in my life here... well what i thought was a powder day till a travelled to canada... i mean i went las vegas after whistler, heard about it in the movies right, in a desert..... couldn't believe it, i could see snow capped mountans from my hotel room!!!! i can barely see snow on our resort mountains haha

anyway back on point, just film it... it's not illegal, if you don't someone else will... and i myself would not call it morally wrong... do whatever you can

UPDATE: I called the guy back, not to make any decisions, but just to ask a few questions.

I asked him what kind of porn he works with, and that i'm not willing to shoot any gross fetish bullshit.

Let me start by saying that I'm not disputing Sydney because I also found a list where it ranked 3rd.

Now let's get into the rest. Manhattan is not a city, it is an expensive subsection of New York City. I just found a list where number 1 was Manhattan and number 2 was Brooklyn. They're the same place. The only difference is the 100 dollars a month in rent. If I were to break cities down the suburbs of Menlo Park (where I lived last year in a college dorm) would be the most expensive place in the world because the cheapest house there is 1.2 million dollars.

As far as your rent claim goes 2 years ago I lived in the second most expensive city in the US by money per squarefootage in San Jose second only to Honolulu by 5 dollars per 100 square feet. Rent is expensive in a lot of places. You're not the only one.

You're claim really doesn't hold merit as rule. It holds merit for you as a single person because you don't make money but it doesn't hold true for all of Australia

I think you just made my point. You have money to travel like that. I can't travel anywhere. My last trip was driving across the nothing that is the midwest where gas is cheap as shit to South Carolina where everything is cheap as shit. I barely have enough money to travel the 100 miles to Flagstaff on the weekends to ski and I'm living in a place that is literally 2/3 the price of the places I lived the last two years

I represented myself and told him to stop bitching... hey i said i couldn't verify the claims and i don't know all the cities there but sydney is effin expensive so are all of our cities.. i'm not sure the exact proportion but i'd say over a quater of all australians live in sydney, so yeah it affects alot of us... Most of australia is just empty space....

I don't think you understand about our rent and house costs... i live in a pretty shitty part of sydney, a long long way from the cbd, and houses here cost all easily over 1.2 million. not sure what that equates to in us but probably around 1... but only in recent years our money has even compared to the us dollar, maybe 5 to 10 years ago 1 us dollar was worth 60 cents... and our wages were even smaller then

I don't think you read what I wrote or else you wouldn't have written that first sentence.

And again you're super-imposing your "well below average salary" on a large majority of the population where the average is 84 grand. I'm sorry you're not around the average but chances are (if you are so far below the average as you say you are), by many mathematical and statistical probabilities, you're in a much smaller percentage of the population than you think you are unless the wage gap in Australia is unprecedentedly large.

I mean I'm not challenging you and what you go through, I believe you. I'm challenging your perception of a vast majority of Australians being behind the 8 ball when it comes to finances

Here's a way for you to understand it.. Your not the first person in the world to notice a correlation between average wages, living expenses and disposable income... I'm pretty sure most cost of living statistics address these, if not they should definitely hire you, A pioneer in statistics, cause in all those list australia, japan and some European countries are always higher than USA .. But let's revert back to you the main reason you pulled me up... An Australian would pay relatively the same amount for a lift ticket than an American.... Well lets just assume australia some how became a state of America, and both mine and your living expenses remained the same... Would my lift pass cost the same as yours??? FUCK NO... Unless the owner of the resort was a complete fucking moron, he'd realise that he has the only available desirable product which he can hike up as much as he'd like with the demand remaining relatively constant in a land much larger than any distance between american ski resorts. We're not talking about your local burger shop or a quick handy from a hooker (good luck getting one for less than a weeks wage)... We're talking about a monopolised business model. I mean I've stayed in whistler on the snow for 2 weeks in peak season (which i understand canada to be more expensive than america) and it cost us per person, 1200, for similar accommodation at the biggest resort in Australia... Which is tiny and shit... Would no joke cost me us over 6000 per person.... It may be hard to get your head around this concept, but if that doesn't help you understand nothing will..

I don't even know what Australia becoming a state has anything to with this and it wouldn't affect anything at all and in no realm of thought did I even approach the idea that it would. That just doesn't make any sense. I was saying that based on the prices of a pass you said earlier and the pass that OP said he was looking to buy combined with the average salaries of both places, the ratio of season pass cost to income is relatively the same with Australia paying a little bit more. I literally have no idea what you were trying to say with Australia becoming a state. I mean Hawaii is a state and I'm pretty sure that gas is twice as much there as it is where I live. The government has nothing to do with it. I'm absolutely baffled by your argument. How did you even come up with it? Either you think I know literally nothing about basic economics and barely bothered to read what I wrote or you have a very limited knowledge of economics

And if you are making less than the 43 grand a year (which you said you are) that would put you in the lower 14th percentile and possibly even the lowest 2% of your country. Provided that would be if it was normally distributed but even if it wasn't the wage gap would have to be unprecedentedly large to put back in the normal 34th percentile range. So again I guess what I'm saying is your money troubles do not reflect your nation's financial situation

Obviously my hypothetical situation did not work... It was to demonstrate how everything being equal I would still pay more because the supply is so low thus even if we did have more disposable income, we'd still get extorted. I have now lost all hope.. Yeah I did travel... I saved for ages... The sad part was, 3 weeks skiing there, including airfares, inland travel, partying and just spending money as a tourist.... It is still cheaper then spending 3 weeks in jindabyne, having to travel up the mountain every day for 3 weeks here to a bunny hill resort... And as far as I could tell at least there grocery prices were similar to here.

I think you should count yourself lucky. Aussies get a fucking sweet deal around the world. Your massive wages mean that as soon as you travel, you're rich as fuck in whatever country you go to (assuming you saved some money in oz). Not to mention the visas you guys can get, especially in Canada. Why, don't you do what the rest of the Aussie skiers and boarders do and move there?

I'm earning less cause I study.. But please tell me more about wealth distribution.. Considering as I understand it the average wage sits around 73000 for full time workers.. Which is very misleading considering this is the mean income... The median income is more like 48000 in which means 50 percent of the population has a taxable income of less than 48000.... But please go on, tell me how I'm in the bottom 2 percent
