i was in single rooms but my neighbors name was allison carver. i was pretty stoked to see who it was. knock on the door, and it's a dude. i'm like, yo is allison around? he said "my friends call me ali".

6'2 280 pound pro WWE style wrestler. every night ate either $15 worth of McDonalds or an entire large pizza. but not a normal pizza, he would order BBQ sauce instead of Pizza sauce, but would then order marinara sauce to dip haha.
halfway through the year i had to tell him to clean up the fkn room,. literally 50% of the floor was mcdonalds wrappers.
he would store popsicles outside the window on the roof and reach for them with a hockey stick when he wanted one (CANADA!)
one time while he was in the bathroom i grabbed a febreeze bottle and started lacing his bed. only to hear "yo man! what are you doing?!" as he walked into the room. that was awkward lol.

anyways I love the guy to this day. we hang out. one of my best friends.

my roommate was an obese diabetic who never controlled his blood sugar and would literally go off of how he felt on whether he needed insulin or more sugar. he ate like shit and to this day still drinks nothing but soda. i think he's gained at least 30 lbs since our freshman year and he comes from a rich family and always got what he wanted and would make fun of me and my friend when we were being stingy with our money. he is pretty lazy and would complain if his ski boots started hurting him (2 hours into a powder day) and he would sit in the car. i called him a fat fuck once.

i love that guy. and we still hang out every once and a while

For the first week my goofy ass roommate stayed in bed. Then, second week in, I walk in one afternoon and he had 3 handles of vodka and was like "I was sick. Sorry for being so boring. Let's get drunk and go meet people." He's still one of my roommates 3 years later.

I lived with a girl for 2 weeks ( I changed rooms ) that never spoke a single work to me. She had a rice cooker in the room and would roll suchi on her desk.


Outside of college, my friend and I let this really nice quite asian student move in with us. It took us about 2 months to realize he had a puppy living with him in his bedroom. We would also go weeks with out seeing him. What made it stranger is that my friend had 2 cats and they never once reacted to the dog. I don't even think they knew it was there.

my first roommate was named Kelsie. had an odd obsession with cats...anyways, she met a dude at a strip club one night and married him the next day...i couldn't sleep in my room for 3 days because they were having their honeymoon...she dropped out, got prego, divorced and is living somewhere in WV now...

seriously if you have the chance freshman year, live with a random. it will totally pay off, and it is good experience


my freshman year roommate was a little guido kid from jersey. really quiet, and we just kinda respected each others space. became really good friends with the kids next door though, and they still are some of my best friends 3 years later

I've got this weird indian kid. We have a mutual respect for each other, but sometimes I think about changing rooms just so I can meet some new and cool that might actually like doing the things I like doing and maybe want to get a house for next year.

I had awesome dorm roomies.We made fun of sorostitutes and had philosophical discussions every Tuesday on the topic of out choosing. For some reason ,I'm not living with them now, and I'm fucking miserable.

You don't have to live with this person for the rest of your life. You don't have to be dating.

If you have a mutual respect for each other that should be fine. If you want to find people that you can go skiing or hiking with meet people around campus. If you find some cool kids get a house with them.

Also I think it's good for people to live with a stranger. A lot of people have weird social barriers. They have their group and they tend not to stray much outside it.

Every friend you have now was a complete stranger at some point. Go talk to strangers, become friends, and live a happy life.

Idk why anyone would want to spend all day in a dorm room anyway. I'm not really claustrophobic. But most college dorms I've been too really aren't that sick. I guess if nothin is happening it's all you got for a home but still.

other kid was an overweight 4'10 dedicated civil war reenactor who had never used a microwave and came back from the only party he ever went to party because "there was an abundance of alcohol, illegal substances, and scantily-clad females."

I could probably go on for days about him but I tried to block most of it out of my memory

Me for sure. Last year I was in the dorms and I got assigned two Asian room mates. One was super studious, so I respect that, but the other played League of Legends all the damn time. Both of them were kinda weird in general though. Nice enough and easy to live with, but I really had nothing in common with them.
Glad I'm out of the dorms and in my own place now. Maybe I won't get sick so damn much. It's just way more mellow. Our wifi name is "The Marination Station" haha.

had a rough go my freshman year. my roommate slept a fuckton and left the room only to go to class and work out. he was a mouth breather too which was probably the worst part. breathed very very audibly all the time even in his sleep and he would also speak at full volume in his sleep. i wore earplugs. we never really spoke because we had literally nothing in common.

transferred to a new school, roommate is a lot cooler and we're nice enough about each other's shit so there are no problems.

I tried random twice. Freshman year was a filipino kid who played a lot of starcraft. And he was sort of weird, everybody on the floor agreed with that judgement. Never had any problems though, so that was fine with me.

Second time I had this kid who, basically, was hank hill from king of the hill, or bobby. Like same values, but he never talked. He just watched tv all day, never went outside, I'd try and talk to him and I got like one word answers. Tried to talk about music... Main stream/what's on the radio country, so that ended fast. TV? He watched sports the whole time and I really don't follow anything, but I knew some stuff about football. Also he wore the same pair of pants every day, and had a total of like two shirts.

Again, no problems, but I was hoping I'd meet like another skier (unlikely here) or somebody that still skateboards. Cause everybody quit. Or somebody who did things outside. That, or just somebody who was open minded about music, or had at least some music preferences.

this thread makes me miss college life.

Two well maybe three stories.

First story- I got my letter in the mail of whole I was going to be roomie with. The dude was named Keneth, we chatted once on the phone, talked to him for about 10 mins and his mom for like 15 mins. Thought it was odd but whatver. He sent me an email 2 days later trying to figure out some stuff. That night I ended up getting pretty drunk and writing him back. The next day I got a call from the school saying I had another roommate. I guess he didn't like people getting drunk and ended up moving to the sober floor. He was a mess come to find out as well. He failed Freshman year and had to take it over. My 2nd year in college I was a Peer advisor and he was one of my advisees.

Second story- So, I get this other roommate name Joe. Joe was an odd duck (well I guess we are all odd in our own ways), he was all gun hoe to play golf and get on the golf team and what not;. That lasted about 3 weeks when he found out he could drink any night he wanted to. The funny thing is get would get so fucken drunk he would be hung over for two days. So on to the story one day I wanted in to the room and he was on his knees beating off in front of his computer. The look on his face was so funny. It was surprised mixed with the pleasure of beating off. To this day I still bust his balls about it. We are really good friends I either lived with him or next to him for the next 3 years.

Third story- So my 2nd year in college I got stuck kind of with this kid named Murph or Chris Murphy. We hung out a bit Freshman year, smoke some drugs together.... So, I wasn't completely pissed but wasn't super stoked tp have him as a roommate. Murph was dating this girl Julie who ended up getting thrown out of school for something. She was a mess. One time I was reading by the window and she came climbing thru on and stepped on me. She was like, ohh hey Jim I am living here now since I was thrown off campus. This is my way in and out. So odd. Murph ends up cheating on Julie with a girl who looked like Julie. My gf now my wife and I wole up to this girl spread eagle on Murphs bed with her lower half exposed. NO Murph to be seen.

I guess he was fucking her and she moved the wrong way and he broke his cock. So he was at health center getting it check out. And left this whore laying in bed with everything hanging out.

My first roommate was a fuck.

I kicked him out. Yes. Kicked him out. Told him he's a prick and one of us is changing rooms; since my friends are on this hall, I'm not leaving. He put in a change form the next day.

I got a new roommate second semester and he's one of my best friends. Crazy mother fucker, but awesome.

Freshman year, black roommate
Sophomore year, different black roommate, plus a crazy asian kid. He would talk to himself nonstop and we would walk into him having conversations with himself and playing yugioh against the mirrors in our apartment. I wanted him to help me clean dishes one night and asked if he would help me later that night. I forgot and went out and got back at 230am. He was sitting in the foyer waiting all night just to say hi and that I 'might have forgotten', then followed me to my bedroom and went to sleep. Sometimes he would lay in our hallway till 4-5am playing some facebook game with Spiderman and Superman. Kid was nuts.

1. kid from NJ. rushing for frat house (strike 1), would come back EVERY FUCKING NIGHT at 2 AM, sometimes I'd be awoken in the middle of the night by him puking in his trash can... you know, instead of going to puke in a toilet like every other fucking normal human being that's not from NJ. His side of the room was always trashed. It stunk and he got into the frat, no surprise there.

2. Random dude who seemed like he belonged in a frat but got kicked out for stealing his bros' underwear... because that's what he did. I noticed I was down a few pairs and wouldn't you know it, they were somehow ending up in HIS FUCKING CLOSET. He would drink cereal with natty ice, instead of milk. I presume we has from NJ.

3. A vegan alcoholic with zero friends, a job and a car, that would flip out at anyone with a different view on life than him or anyone that would ask him to clean up after himself (dishes piled up in the sink for days, never once wiped down a counter). He never left the house to the point where I kept track and gave up caring after reaching TWO WEEKS. The house is next to a school and he wanted to grow a "few" weed plants in the house... a few means around a dozen to him. He was also caught screaming at kids who were playing in the playground "too loudly" around midday. Oh, forgot to mention it was an ELEMENTARY school.

I now live by myself in a dope spot surrounded by friends who all live within 2 blocks away.

I had a pretty rad dude as a roommate freshman year, simple setup. Just hung out in other peoples rooms all the time yet I knew I could always come back and have a chill place to do homework or just relax. When you're sharing a room with someone, someone chill is so much better because you can always go somewhere else to get rowdy, but its much harder to find a quiet place to get your shit down.

Had 3 randoms for my freshmen year, my actually roommate turned out to be pretty chill, living together for 5 years now. The other 2, they both didn't have facebook when we got their names so we were super sketched out if they would be normal or not. Turned out both of them were some of the coolest people I have ever met. We all got a place together our second year, but sadly both of them dropped out/transferred. Still friends with both them, visited one just a few weeks ago.

Started out my freshmen year with 2 randoms who were all right, one was a nice guy but a true couch potato, the other one was slightly weird since he always had headphones on and never really said anything, then both transferred and I ended up with one of the chillest guys Ive ever met the second semester

I haven't had any weird roommates so far, but my friend last year got paired with a super weird son'bitch. He was the type that never went to class and was just grimy as fuck. He would stack up to-go boxes 5 high around his desk because he was too lazy to take them to the trash.

My friend found him making pickles in their room one day. He had a bunch of jars filled with brine sitting on their shelf... making fucking pickles.

I went in to their room once and only once, and it looked like a meth house, no joke.

Another kid in my hall stayed in his room for the entire weekend, didn't leave for anything. He pissed in gallon-sized gatorade bottles.
