Smith maze for sure, superlight weight and comfortable. I also chose to remove the ear pads to make it slightly lighter and to allow for me to wear my goggles under my helmet.
Idk, to me, how lightweight the Maze was always made me feel like it wouldn't protect me as well, and just felt cheaper. I know its a great helmet, and it probably works great for you, but just that little thing turned me off. Im probably the only one who thinks that way, but w.e.
Ah! I needed this thread. For both the Holt and the Maze, can you guys tell me what size you wear and how big your heads are in cm? I'm going to get one of them, but it varies from brand to brand. Also, they quote you on the sizes, but don't account for if you'd rather have a beanie underneath. If you see this and/or actually have time.
I can see where you are coming from, but it is the entirely wrong direction. When buying a helmet it's best to go to a store. Much the same as getting ski boots, not all helmets fit everyone's heads the same, they can be shaped differently and therefore end up being uncomfortable or even unsafe.
I have and average head, and the Holt Large is a perfect size for most head shapes, but definitely don't buy a helmet (unless you can return it) online, go to the store and try them on.
Go try helmets on. Like the guy said above its just like boots, Just because they fit someone else does not mean it will fit you. If you don't have a ski shop find a skate or bike shop and try helmets from differnt brands that also make ski helmets. It's not ideal but much better then buying blindly from a recommendation here.
