Hey NS im wanting to buy new skis this summer and i think i've narrowed it down to either the 2013 blends or the 2013 Nomad RKR. Im looking for an allmountain ski that is playful and can handle pretty much anything. I ski at Big White in BC where there is a couple cm of fresh most days but also there can be a good amount of crud and ice too. Im 5'11" and 160lbs. Any thoughts?

Haven't had any experience with the Nomads, but I am a big Blend's fan. They have just enough rise and width to hold out in the pow, and grip and carve well into the crud

Thanks :) yea I think im leaning towards the blends cuz theyre a bit cheaper and i think the Nomad might be a bit too wide for me

I am pretty sure the nomads rkr has quite a bit more prominent rocker. Seeing as you live in BC, I would personally choose the nomad rkr just for that extra rocker and the little bit of extra width

Their website says its a traditional camber ski.. versus the blend which is well rockered as well as early-tapered

there are 2 versions, nomad with traditional camber, and nomad RKR with rocker and camber.

Ive just had experience with the blend and they are awesome! Super playful and buttery. They will hold up in the park well and bug enough to
Take into deeper snow. But the only thing is if you are planning on skiing only park i would get a different ski because i just found them being a little bit wide and heavy but thats just my opinion. I hope this helped out

I've ridden the nomads. I found them a bit stiff, but I'm very light (120lbs). And it was the second time I've ever ridden a rockered ski. But they had to be moving to get a good turn rhythm going. Very, very poppy though. Nollies and such were super fun. If I were heavier I'd get them. Never ridden blends, but I've ridden all three varieties of nomad and I personally love the sfts that they no longer make. Just an all around super fun ski.
