Making the jump from 165's to 180's

I used to ski on 165 candides and then i just grew a whole lot... Ive heard alot about you cant spin as fast with longer skis but you go alot faster... Is this true? and does it make a huge difference having longer skis?

hellz yea.. .when i got my candides i was maybe 5' 7' and then i had those for about a year and a half and now im about 6 feet and a bit

i made the same jump, and its not that big of a deal when it comes down to it. yeah, little skis are a bit easier to whip around, but it isnt that noticable usually. you do get going a little faster, and there is more of the ski to point downhill, which is nice. other than that, its not a huge switch.

i just went from 169 to 182 and i love it, little faster but its easy to adjust to.

if you can spin it easily now, you can spin it easily with the bigger skis. maybe the first time you try a new spin you will tell, but you will adjust right away.

if your worried about spinning being harder , then your hucking really hard , you shoudlnt be whipping your spins around in the first place.if you have long skis all thats ungna hapen is your gunna spin slower and steezier, also yes the are fatser until you fuck up your bases majorly , but they are defintyl faster, thats a really good thing. your ungna have a lot more stability when you land backseat and shit , at first the buiggest hting youll feel is jst turning itll feel weird ahaing all the extra ski behind you , but once your used ot it its just plain SOLID. you'll love it , longer skis are sick. soon im gunna start rockin the 200 cm ld school skinny skiz and take them to the parkkk , itll be dope to try thta shit out. you'll be fine though , as long as you dont pencil spin.

haha i went from 150 to 181 last season and on the first run i got adjusted to them, i can spin 180s on the ground just as easy so don't worry

as long as you are a good skier, it dont mater. i was on 160's, then this season i switched to 175's then i tried my dads 185s on the first run or so and could ski them no prob

you'll def be able to still spin a 3 on the ground, it'll just take getting used to. i just moved to 176 from 161

for me it helped to change over at the beginning of the season. That way while your getting comfortable being on snow again, you wont notice much of a difference.

u can spin with bigger skis just as good, i went from 143 elan twins(lol, i am ashamed to admitting that) to 180 concepts andi could spin 7s and 9s no problem, u shouldnt have a problem with them

dont get the longer ski, its really bad! i went from some 169 public enemies and i was spinning huge 720s no prob but then i switched up to some 170 armada AR5s and now shit! those things are so huge i cant spin at all anymore

and more, much more than this, I did it my way

I'm makin that jump next year...i bought 165's last year and then unexpectadly i grew 7 inches and now i'm 6 foot and change. I'm still gonna ski them and they'll juse be small as shit on me this year but nexdt year i think i'll get 180s...this year should be interesting with these skis so short.
