Just a heads up, me and some of my friends were on the continental divide trail near Buena Vista, CO and brought a few of tires with us and were rolling them down the side of the trail. When we ran out of tires we started rolling ~400lb rocks down the side by pushing them with a truck and we didn't see a couple of hikers traversing across and one of the rocks came within 15 feet of hitting them. So moral of story, don't be stupid and do this in high hiking traffic areas

trundling is sketchy. People at my work do it sometimes... I don't even know how many times it's almost gone horribly wrong.

Something so satisfying about watching a rock fly down the mountain though.

i started a pretty wild rock slide last year while trundling above glenmerry, probably about a class 3 avy if it were snow. it was one of the craziest things i've seen.
that said, i love trundling. especially while downloading the chairs from the glacier in whistler and everyone brings the biggest rocks they can fit in their backpacks.
also, when i was a kid we used to roll tires down the thompson ave. hill in lower rossland after school, it was all fun and games till we hit the city bus.

To true, my idiot friend broke my friends leg by rolling a ~17 down the side of the mountain. We were out for 4 days on the west coast and this happened in the 3rd day. After trundling 4 or 5, He throws one down, and it bounces over my mates shoulder, stops for 5 minuets then throws another, which takes out my friends leg. There was blood, but it didn't look broken and whilst he admitted it was painful, he thought it just hurt cause he had a rock trundled at it. Anyway we carried on, got to the top, walked down, and pitched our tents. On the next day we walked out, and his leg still hurt at this point, but nobody suspected a break. It was only on the next day when he went for a run, and then shortly after starting couldn't carry on that he went to hospital. Where he was told it was break.
