Nico journeys beyond the Gucci Plateau

Nine Knights jump got guinea-pigged today. There were some speed issues last year and there's a long flat in front of the jump, so Nico came in hot... a little too hot. You can add another line to the list of great overshoots. Luckily he escaped sore but unscathed.

I consider the Gucci plateau to be landable terrain. Where Nico landed was definitely not a spot where anyone could actually ride away without body parts spontaneously combusting while landing. Therefore...

That's stupid cause then the zones would change depending on the size of the jump.

If he went past the Gucci Plateau that means he would be into the Big Air Dave Zone, which he clearly was not. Nico still had some landing (sure it was only 5 feet left but it was there) therefore he did not go Big Air Dave. He also easily surpassed the thug zone, so by the squeeze theorem he landed in the Gucci Plateau.

It's science.

I have taken a jump bigger than that before/claim, however it was probably 1/5 the size.

I hate 9 knights. It's covered terribly. The videos are edited for the gaper audience, nothing cool really happens, the actual contest sucks and I don't care about pictures really.

Only cool things are the castle and Teddy Berr's front flip and Nico. He clearly works hard for the event.

OK but hold on a second here - above and beyond all selse you ust bow down and worship those park builders like gods.

I mean, you can debate a lot of things, but not the fact that the snow feature created there is an absolute masterpiece.

I said the castle was cool, just the event sucks.

The edits are all overproduced techno pumping garbage and half the time they cut tricks and add 1000000 times slow mo. Plus I feel like they make this castle and it ends up just being another jump. It's a let down. I want to see crazy transfers. Last year someone should have gapped from the inner quarter pipe to the outer hip transfer, but they were all too busy sending cork 7s over the plain old jump.

I'm not against a big air contest, but when such a cool thing is built and all we get is regular jump tricks and an overproduced, gaped-out edit it's stupid.

I think a diagram showing the different regions of the jump should be on everyone's homepage at all times.

As the creator of the diagram, I'm deeming this the very end of the gucci plateau or the beggining of the big air dave zone. The gucci plateau is the last area of tranny that is possible to land and ride away from. I don't think anyone could ride away from that.

Ahahaha ya. That gets into the argument of going deep vs overshooting though. Some people intentionally will bring it to the plateau (see B-Dog) and thats when you see people riding away. However if you are overshooting you probably are not in control and will eat shit regardless of whether you land deep or land flat. (posting from mobile, I'm sure this is filled with spelling errors.)
