The ON3P "SECRET SAUCE OPEN" Online Slopestyle

Hey All -

After some setbacks that pushed this contest back quite a bit, we're happy to announce the start of the ON3P/ Shredsauce Secret Sauce Open.

How it works:

The Secret Sauce Open is a video slopestyle contest. To enter, lay down a run on the ON3P Shredsauce Slopestyle course, record it, and upload it here to have it judged by the Newschoolers community. If you can not figure out how to record your run on your computer, do whatever it takes to get it online! Members who are unable to upload a video with acceptable quality to judge what's going on will be disqualified.

Format-wise, feel free to use the course however you see fit, but keep in mind that it's one run to rule them all. Your entry must be a top-to-bottom run of Shredsauce, and no editing is allowed. Any editing or multiple runs will result in an immediate disqualification.

The first round will be five days long (from Wednesday, April 3rd until Monday, April 8th at 9pm PST/Midnight EST), and only one entry per person is allowed, so please use your time wisely to record a run that you are proud of. After the deadline for entries has passed, the Newschoolers community will have two days (from Tuesday, April 9th until Wednesday, April 10th at 9pm PST/Midnight EST) to vote for their favorite entries.

After the first round, the 32 highest rated entries as determined by the Newschoolers community will go head-to-head in in subsequent rounds until the final two play for the grand prize.

Each head-to-head round is two days long, and will have changes to the course! It is up to you to make sure you are able to put together a good run in those two days.

Voting for each head-to-head round is two days long – long enough for you to promote yourself, but not long enough to totally whore yourself out on Facebook.

All voting will be done entirely by the Newschoolers community, and you must be a North American citizen (excluding Quebec, due to legal reasons outside of Newschoolers, ON3P and Shresauce's control) over the age of 13 to be eligible for this contest.

The grand prize winner of The Secret Sauce Open will receive a pair of ON3P Jeronimo skis, 2nd place will receive 3 ON3P t-shirts and 3 ON3P hats, 3rd place will receive 3 ON3P t-shirts and a sticker pack, and the ON3P's staff favorite entry will receive 3 ON3P t-shirts and a sticker pack.

I thought Malcolm was going to update the course before this? The current one is workable but kind of rough around the edges and I feel it will make the contest a bit worse.

I said the "rules," as in the rules page on the contest page. it doesnt mention canada or north america. just the 50 states and a district in washington

"ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are over 13 years of age at the time of entry. Employees of the Sponsors and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, dealers and agents, and the foregoing employees’ household or immediate family members (defined as parent, spouse, child, sibling or grandparent) are NOT eligible to enter the Contest."

The course was reworked a little and will be updated shortly - takes a little bit to get it up after an update apparently. Hold tight because Malcolm has worked on it for your guys.

My only question, are we supposed to be somewhat realistic? Otherwise... You can pretty much cork onto and off rails and do triples out of canons and do quads cleanly on jumps.... I think you should pick a realistic, creative, fun, cool run to win.

It has to do with laws that Quebec government has regarding contests and contest winnings. It's super unfortunate, but totally out of the control of Newschoolers or ON3P.... trust us, we're really bummed that we aren't able to get it worked out for Quebec residents, as is NS.

What are you guys using to record screen? I am trying to use quicktime... but then Shredsauce is super laggy and its hard to control the dude when its laggy. Any sugggestions?

Thats why you cant be in.. Quebec isnt in canada and they are not "American Retarded Laws" . It was issues with quebec, not the United States.
