Ah, arrogancy mixed with ignorance.
1) The Chronics are NOT designed to be center mounted. The suggested mounting point is not at true center, and neither is the narrowest point of the sidecut. Mounting them a centimeter or two behind true center won't do shit for the swing weight.
2) Of course it's more about the skier than the skis. That, however, is completely irrelevant here. Since he's already getting new skis, why not get the best possible option? "It's more about the skier than the skis" boils down to something like "just get whatever, it doesn't matter". It does matter. There are real differences between skis, and these differences make different skis excel at different things. For the Domains it's being awesome at jibbing in the park all day, for the Chronics it's stability and versatility all-mountain without sacrificing park performance.
3) Sure, it's possible to do all of that on the Domains. That's a pretty stupid argument though. Just because a ski can do some things, doesn't mean it's the best alternative for them. Sometimes my friend cruises the park and groomers on his Line EP Pros, but he doesn't go around touting their all-mountain versatility. There's a difference between what a ski can do and what it's good at.
