Need some tips!

So I'm just getting into doing some stuff in the park.
I usually just stick to the steep and deep but have decided that I need to further my skills! Lol

Anyways I was wondering if anyone could share some tips on what to do for a newbie park skier. Like what features to start on, grabs to try or how to even do a 180, i know nothiy when it comes to park. I can do ride on boxes (but let's face it who can't do that), and I am comfortable on small jumps and can do some small grabs (they def aren't pretty though). Hope someone can give me some advice! Thanks!!

Also I am currently skiing on 177 4frnt yle's. will those be alright for the park? They def charge it when it comes to big mountain shit!

Master the mini park at your mountain before trying the big park, no one likes a gaper in a park they don't belong.

When grabbing, don't reach down to grab the ski, bring your skis up to your hand. (within reason)

Remember to pop and bring up your knees when you take off a jump, don't just roll over it.

When you try and slide a box sideways, look and lean towards the end of the box.

Always pop, but not too agressively or you'll throw yourself off balance.
Start off with straight airing or doing some simple grabs (safety, japan etc) and work your way up. Practice switch skiing and sliding obstacles unnatural (both ways).
Try 180s and 270s off on small stuff. When rotating, use head and shoulders (like the shampoo hurrdurr).
And most importantly, don't just sit around watching trick tips, get out there and try it and ask other skiers if your struggling, you'll make new friends and get advice from someone who can actually see you skiing and tell what your doing wrong.
And falling is just a part of progressing, the best way to get over fear is to fall.

Exept for rails, then you should use your skis. Also check out the trick tips cult to learn some basic stuff.

when you slide a box sideways, keep your wait evenly distributed between both legs and focus your eyes on the landing at the end of the box.

when you do a 180 just look backwards and your body will go with you.

your grabs probably wont look pretty at first, style comes after the trick, youll start getting good style with good practice

also i would practice just popping a 180 while skiing slowly before taking it to a jump. and then once you get that down solid, try a 3. almost just as easy, you just have to keep looking around for the landing

I always thought 360s were easier than 180s

and the main reason to bailing is because of pussying out, not actual not being able to throw a trick. So commit.

Thanks for all the great tips! They will definitely help! I'm going to momentum this summer so I want to have at least a base of knowledge to work from. Also, being back in onterrible I never ski so it will be awesome to have something to do on the slopes when I'm here since there's clearly no steep or deep anywhere!!
