if you have shitty cam, just record for 90 minutes (max length of minidv tape), import, and speed up to a rate where it isnt choppy

you could also hook the cam up to your comp (preferabley a laptop) and record at set time intervals if you editing program supports it directly to the hard drive

if you have a nice cam like a gl2 etc, they have settings for time lapsing

heres what i did, i filmed a whole tape, split the clips every minute, put each clip for much less then a second and it worked out awsome.

i filmed for 1 hour and then sped it up but I think those other techniques would be better
