Possible New Line Binding Problems

So here is the deal. I work at a shop and was settin up some skeeze with the binding. The adjustment for the din setting that is right in the center of the plate seems to not be working properly on a few of the bindings we have. The problem is that when the screw bottoms out it is not at the lowest din setting, thus hinting that it could be up to two din settings inaccurate. Mind that we have not talked to Line about the problem yet, and it may not be an issue, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed similar problem? Also any feedback on how well the binding skis would be appreciated.

Since you 'work at a shop' you should have calibrated the binding on the spot. Thats what any decent shop would do. Espescially before you come onto the biggest shit talking, rumor spreading ski related website in the world and start spreading information that is potentially, and more than likely false.

More like asking a question. And you must know that we didn't work with the binding at all, right? Obviously I included the part about not having talked to Line yet, so a rumor would not be started. The binding was shit when it came out. All it did was break, at least if you had any balls. I'm still very skeptical about the binding as it is now.

hahah, i've been riding the reactors for two seasons now, they rock. i really hope you're not working on MY reactors, because i dropped them off at the local shop on monday.
i find it funny that you're trashing something that your shop is trying to sell....... always a good marketing strategy.

Don't worry, I'm not. Our shop has simply seen way too many broken pairs of Line bindings. and I simply wanna know everyones views on the binding. I even want to ride it myself, but am still very skeptical

This is an amazing example of extremely irresponsible posting. You could have very easily called your Line rep to discuss the issue, but you chose to put it out on newschoolers.com for the world to see, and for that, you're an idiot. The next time you consider posting something of this nature, try and think of this website's reach.
If I were a mod, this would have been deleted long ago.

I wouldn't really classify this thread as 'anti-line' - a member was concerned about something he saw in his own experience and wanted to know if anyone else has had similar issues. There's surely nothing wrong with that.
it's all very exciting.

Can all of you tell me that you honestly aren't in any way skeptical about the binding? After the problems that it first had when it came out. I'd also appreciate hearing anyones experience with the binding and how it skis.

So maybe we should actually hear a few experiences with the binding? Maybe all of you who love the binding should say it and say that you haven't had any problems with it...if it is so great and all

i'm not skeptical at all, i've basically been a guinea pig for two seasons, since i picked up a pair of the original reactors............. they're bomb-proof. and i'm running a lower din than i otherwise would, because the bindings really only release when they're supposed to.
sorry to rip on you man, it's just that i've been posting my story for 2 years, and nobody has paid any attention.

the guy asked a freakin question. is that such a bad thing? for god sake you people suck, try to help this guy out instead of giving him shit about it! And if this helps at all, my local ski shop didn't even pick up the reactors this year because of so many problems theve had with them.

wow. those are some of the most retarded responses imaginable. especially the ones calling this an 'irresponsible' post. ahwell, at least a handful of people and the mod has the sense to recognize that.

test them on a huber and make adjustements from there. thats the same thing you would do on any other binding if the springs were a little tight or loose. The only thing i am hesitant about with the bindings is that for me to put them on my skis, i would need a freedom plate, and i dont really want to be lifted that high off the ski. every pair we have tested so far tests out perfectly. unfortunately there isnt really a way to test out the lateral release on the heel and toe independantly to see if one is working correctly and the other is not though.

well, the toe and heel are tied together, so basically if the front is working, the rear is too.

theoretically, yes. but not necesarily. you could have a bunch of crap gunked up in the heel and not the toe, right? i realize the spring is in the center, but i am talking about the individual heel and toe mechanisms not working properly, regardless of the spring. make sense? maybe not....

The bindings definetly work. I've watched people throwing 450's onto rails without any problems. Granted, there are a few small things they could improve on. But everything can always be improved. It's called progression.

i never said the bindings didnt work, i just said there was no way to test the heel and toe independantly to find out which one could cause a boot to release incorrectly, although i havent encountered any that didnt release correctly yet
