Personally I don't like golf more than skiing....UNLESS... I know I am going to be on a course with noone in front of me slowing me down and can play at my own pace and enjoy myself. If its just me on a cart whipping around and getting my 18 in in 2 hours I think I prefer golf.
The waiting for the cocksuckers in front of you and/or the old annoying idiots they might pair you up with totally ruins it and is probably worse than a crappy non powder day at a boring mountain. I don't really like playing with friends either because they get all pissy every round for sucking and being total hackers and it isn't fun and the round inevitably turns to shit with weed and beer.
I don't find skiing challenging enough. And I am not trying to hurt myself or hike to spots. Not really trying to see if my free MA health insurance works in other states. I was at Vail last week and it was just too easy. There was only ONE good run that was steep to my standards (think it was called Lovers Leap or something was in the back bowls and had tons of rocks to huck off) the rest of the mountain was flat and boring and basically blue runs to me. Gaper central.
Golf if a tough game. I am crankin my 4 wood 300+ yards so my new $500 dollar driver is sort of worthless right now and I reached a 600 yard par 5 in 2 shots without the driver Tuesday just hitting both my fairway woods (played the Phoenix Open course Phil tore up last weekend) yet I can hardly crack 90 if I am playing a good course. Its hard as hell and I putt well too. I just get the challenge that isn't there from skiing. I'd have to do something really stupid to feel challenged on skis.
I think I like it better if I avoid getting paired up with boring old people. Never thought I would say it.
Golf blows though when you have to deal with other people. Skiing is cool when you are somewhere steep on a powder day. But other than that its sort of blah to me. Still like it though.
