New Line Skis 2013/2014 Catalog is sick!

Check out page 27, the Future Spins skis look fresh as fuck and have a good name to them haha !

Also they have a bunch of sick stuff in there, jackets are lookin good too. I've been buying line stuff for years now and this stuff beats them all by far, thoughts?

Chronic's, Future Spins, and Travelling Circus' all look awesome. Glad they have some bigger sizes now to, coming from someone that's 6'4.

The futurespin seems to have replaced the stepup :(

Stepups were great skis and now Line doesn't really have anything like it as a "high-performance" park ski (symmetrical/nearly symmetrical, stiff, camber, narrower, sintered base)

I don't really get why Line would replace stepups with futurespins - it looks like they're marketed as park skis but they're designed for a -4cm mount point and seem somewhere between the masterminds and chronics as an entry-level park/all mountain ski.

No. The future spin has the same dimensions as the old chronic, but with rocker. It's one of their top-of-the-line park skis, and has a sintered base and all that fancy construction.

nothing's wrong with mounting 4cm back for all-around skiing, I just think a lot of park riders would rather have something centre-mounted without having to mount their bindings 4cm ahead of the sidecut centre.

You can mount skis dead center if you want. Because it says -4 back or something doesn't mean you need to mount them like that.

you CAN mount them dead centre but I personally would much rather ride a symmetrical ski at centre than a directional ski at centre - If I was planning on buying skis that would be centre-mounted I'd definitely choose symmetrical skis (like my stepups) over something designed for mounting further back.

It probably doesn't make much of a difference, but that's just my logic :)

just to clear up any confusion, the future spin is what line has been trying to create with a few other skis in  the past. It is their high performance do anything park ski. Symmetrical skis tend to hook when jumping switch so they took it back. you can most definitely mount them center and I'd recommend it. Save powder skis, this is the only ski I'm going to ever ski again, park, urban, just shredding, and goofing around on small stuff. HYPE

I get what you're saying about the skis hooking, but can you explain to me why a directional ski will hook less than a symmetrical ski (both mounted centre)? I'd think that you would have the same problems mounting a ski like the futurespin at centre. They still look like awesome skis and I'm not trying to hate - just really liked the stepups and I'm surprised that they're discontinued.

Oh my god, everything looks awesome. I love the look of the new Chronics. LINE's colors are what distinguishes their skis. Especially with the 2011/12 chronics, you know that they are chronics from miles away. It's their marketing, and I think it is a good idea.

Hahaha I love how they're named future spins. Line seems to just take popular words in the skiing world and name a ski after it. Explaining why my afterbangs are called that to others is unbearable
