2013 Full Tilt Seth Morrison's are giving me grief.

Hello everyone, I come here for advice.

I recently got a really nice deal on the new Seth Mo full tilts. I previously had 2010 Nordica Speed machines, which I had moulded and properly fitted. They were starting to hurt my inner ankle and I fancied a change.

Silly me I went for the fashionable option of FT's after being dazzled by them in the shop. This was before I was aware of all the info on this site. :(

They actually fit fine, my toe brushes the end and they feel good. There is a bit of a gap in between my shin and the boot at the top. The issue I'm having is that I can't get the tightness right. They either seem to be too loose on the top bucke/strap and my shin starts to flap around and I feel really unstable. But when I tighten the strap and top buckle a lot, I get a really bad ache in my shin and calf and it hurts and feels uncomfortable and restrictive.

They're not too big for me, I just can't get it right. Some days it's fine, other days I swill spend forever adjusting and fiddling with the buckles to try and get them right. I almost feel like they're "too" customisable!

Does anyone have any advice? I haven't had them heat moulded and I don't have a footbed, but I don't feel like that's the main issue. I will get one once I'm home after the season, but My foot feels fine and my ankle isn't in pain, it's mainly the top part of the boot which is doing it.

Should I buy a booster strap? Gel pads in between the inner and my shin? It's starting to give me a head ache.

get a booster strap i had that same problem with my Tom Wallisch full tilts and i got a booster strap and it tightens so much up top and the boot fits perfect now

Thanks very much. That's all I feel I need. Just a bit more stability, tightness and support for my shin. What level of booster should I go for? Just the regular one? Or the really tight one?

just the standard booster should be sufficient

i got a like inch thick teporpedic memory foam sample and put in front of shin and there like the most comfy boots ever i have same problem as you did maybe il get a booster strap also

Full Tilts have almost 0 arch support and they dont even come with a footbed liner. I'd definitely say put some foot beds in those boots. They're going to be more snug then and if they are too tight you can get them molded. This didnt really solve youre problem with the leg gap but I saw in your description you didnt have footbeds, and you for sure need footbeds on those boots.

Ok, thanks for the tips on foot beds. Who are the best for them? Is there any way I can get decent ones without spending 150-200$? I will if I have to, but I'd rather not.

There's a bunch that arent custom ones which are pretty reasonably priced. Ive had some in my boots for the past 4 years that arent custom molded and they sell totally fine. I'd say put a non-custom footbed on your foot and see how it fits your foot, if the arch is supported well. If it's fine then go with that, you'll save big $$ over custom ones.

had bad enough shinbang with the booters, what i did what took like 6 days off of skiing (one day of the weekend was rainning and 5 days for school, (home mountain is far from my house)) and i purchased some booster straps and i went skiing this past weekend, still had a bit of shinbang (probly just leftovers from having it bad the weeks before) but way less than before and so far it has been worth the money, i hope it continues that way.
