Do you consider johnny cash country music?

I hate country but I like Johnny cash alot. I am torn as to whether that means I like country or that johnny cash is more rock and roll or some other genre I don't know the name of. His music seems pretty uncountrylike to me.

Yes it is. Country is a broad genre. You get a lot of diversity in everything - electronic, metal, jazz, whatever. But yeah, Johnny Cash is seriously amazing. I find some of his songs to be really heavy actually, but in a different context. If that makes sense to anybody else...

johnny cash is real country, todays country is nothing more than the sugar coated pop like on pop radio stations, it appeals to the faggot high school kids who think its not mainstream to listen to country. Just tell people you like real country, not the new fake shit thats on the radio.
