Newschoolers Minecraft Server

YO NS Minecraft players! I have been working with a friend (lbuitendam) to set up a server for newschoolers mc players to play on. After some of you bitched about the vanilla server, we added bukkit/plugins to it and are now ready to have people join! We are still working on making sure the plugins are all working properly, so bear with any downtime and maintenance.

The IP: 76.179.161.78:25564

****Note! This server is not maintained by newschoolers.com in any way,shape, or form. It is a server I personally set up for NS members to use. Message ME with any issues !!*****

And just FYI, this is run by me on a personal machine. Uptime is not guaranteed to be 24/7 but I will try to keep it on as much as possible. Again, message me with issues.

Server Rules:
1) No Griefing
2) No Bitching/Whining/Moaning
3) No Looting/Stealing/Douchebaggery
4) No Shitty Buildings
5) What Admins say, goes. End of story. (Seriously don't back talk)
6) No asking for blocks/items/promotions. Don't ask us, we'll ask you.

I love PC games and I game exclusively on computers but for some reason I have never picked up Minecraft. Do you recommend it? I have heard great things but I just don't know if I will like it. Is there more to the game than just building things?

Building things is mainly what it is about but building things with otehr people and seeing their creaitivty as well as your own is what makes it fun. We had a super dope jungle village on the old server with trap doors, vaults, modern houses, aqueducts, etc and it was just fun to build things with people!

Hey 1337 is there gonna be a house protection on this server by any chance?

no, it's about 26 bucks from my understanding on PC, and 20 for the xbox version.

it's basically a huge world you're placed into and everything is made out of blocks. your character is 2 blocks high, for reference, and you go about mining/getting different materials and surviving/making things with those materials. this description doesn't do it much justice but it is an awesome game.

I used to rip on my friends who played Minecraft because I thought it was gay and then I heard what the game was about and played it and immediately bought it and haven't stopped since haha.

I honestly love minecraft, but its not for everyone and for some it'll suck you in. Like I introduced jamie to it not too long ago and now he's running a server.

It's a sandbox game and is what you make it. Redstone gives the game complicatedness, while i know people that have fun just bullshitting around and not making it past stone tools, or I know others that make massive structures.

For those who are established members and would like to create residence:

1)Acquire a brick. Not a brick block, a brick

2)Left click one corner of a square that will surround your residence, then right click the opposite corner. CLICKING ANYTHING ELSE AFTER/DURING WILL REMOVE THE RIGHT/LEFT CLICK POINT

3)Type "/res select vert" -- this will expand your residence from level 1 to 256

4)To create your residence, type "/res create [yourname]" -- Do NOT use spaces in the name, and keep it simple/something we can ID you with

5)To modify/adjust flags, use the command "/res set [yourname] [flag] [true/false]" -- some flags include Monsters, Use, Build, Animals, and Container (chest use). These will allow other people to build/use/access containers if you were to set them to true!

I built a modern house across the water from 1337s house and its almost done. Lots pf progress is being made and things are starting too look good! My advice to newbies, find us building outside spawn and make a place nearby. That way we are all ate near eachother!
