Line Afterbang 2010 - one question.

Hello,

I can get this skis very cheap (like 50 euro, I am from Poland that's why they don't cost so much). They look quite good. I am begginer in fs and I want to try some rails, boxes, and small jumps (like 180 or 360 is max).

I heard that they are sooooo bad on trails, even a lighter ones like blues. Is that true? I want to know, because I want to skii some regulars trails too, like 40% trails, 60% park.

My question is if this skis would atleast ski as good as 10 years old Elans, which looks like that ones:

They were not prepared for skiing since like 7-8 years and I was skiing on them, just for fun. :)

if you are just starting out, i'm sure afterbangs would be fine. i know that tons of people use them and just as a starter ski i think they would get the job done. i canot personally say anything about them as i have never used them, but i know they don't have a reputation for being awful or defective or anything like that. to my knowledge

props to you for stepping into the hostile english internet from poland!

i think that any ski for 50 euros is an extremely good price. you're just starting out skiing and don't need anything high end as far as skis go. try out the afterbangs and go from there. use them as a reference for if or when you buy your next pair of park skis. do you not like how soft they are? did you want a wider/ fatter skis or a ski with a different turn radius? do you not when fully symmetrical skis? the afterbang is good for a beginner park skier like you because its cheap and it will go down a mountain. however, depending on how fast you progress and start to get a feel for park skiing, you'll realize that there are much better skis out there.

in short, yes i'd buy them.

So you're saying, that they wont do like carving skis on allmountain, but just for a small ride on a blue track they should be okay? they dont need to be fast or do aggresive turns :)

oh they will carve, they're just not great carving or all mountain skis, you know? i think that's what you might have been trying to say. they're low end skis, but they'll still do everything skis are supposed to.

Thanks guys for your answers. So, as a first fs skis for 50 euro, its a good deal? i already bought salomon spk kreation boots, cheap as well.

Anyway, im not so experienced skier, i'd say im skiing like 5-6/10 i ski since one year, but I want to try FS so badly. ;)

I was doing some snowboarding more often, but i think skiing is funnier :)

hm they have bad used graphic, but slide and edges are quite okay. well i want to buy em for one 6-days trip to see if i like FS. it would cost me much more to rent than to buy em.

from those pictures they look pretty damn good,
if there arent any major cracks in the layering or something id say: buy them!

well, i've read somwhere that they have bad bindings for fs... just 2,5-9 DIN. but as I am a beginner freestyler, with 172 cm and 72 kg, they should be okay for me just to try myself in the park, to start with small jumps and some rails, boxes I guess?

thats equivalent to about 159lbs i say im a type 2 skier (intermediate) weigh about 150 and my din is at 5.5-6. i think those bindings would be good for you din wise. but if you start packing thoes kilos you might have a problem later in the future. but remember the bindings are to protect you if you have a cheap binding or a din that is cranked up it could hurt you pretty bad!!! Good Choice to get into some Free Style.

Thanks for another replies.
Yeah about stuff and dins, thats my first pair of fs skis. Soon I am going to alpes and try some rails, boxes, small jumps to see if I like it, thats why I dont wan't to buy expensive stuff, because if I see that I am not a good freeskier, then it would be a waste of cash. But if I see, that I do stuff good, then I will think about better skis. ;-))

Ouch... there's one more problem... One guy told me now, that he can sell me Armada AR6 07/08 for just 60 euros... 166 cm.

I cant see the pictures but if they are in good condition i would say AR6 they are a better quality than the line afterbang. It will handle all mountain alot better

Please, help me guys. I have to decide till today evening (here's 2 pm). I've read that armada ar6 are outstanding skis, even cool, much better than afterbang on regular trails. as you see on pics, they look quite well, and they are just for 60 euros...

any more opinions of which should I take as a first FS skii? some rails, boxes, small jumps and all mountain, like 30-40% park and rest AM, some BC maybe (not much powder though).

pics above of both Armada AR6 07/08 and Line Afterbang.

anyone else got something to say about afterbangs against ar6? pics above :) arbangs 50 euro, ar6 60 euro. airbangs 9 din, ar6 10 din.
and... probably more time i'll spend on regular trails than snow park i guess

I think I will go for AR6's. I heard they are much better on regular trails, quite same in the park, better on jumps. And I think they are in better condition (as you can see in the pics).

I hope that it will be a good decision!

Ok, I bought them. Armada AR6 for 60 euro sounds nice, and they look quite good! :)) I hope I wont regret that i didnt bought afterbangs.
