Moment vs. On3p

I know that a lot of people on this site like on3p's. I'm just wondering as to how moments would compare to on3p's. I'm pretty much already decided on filthy riches, but I am looking for an extremely durable ski. I know that on3p's are said to be the most durable and i know that moments are handmade too and must offer some pretty decent quality.

There isn't really a definitive way of saying one brand is more durable than the other, but if it helps....in my personal experience my ON3Ps have stayed in very good condition through some brutal treatment. I'd say they are significantly more durable than the average ski and I've had a blast riding them. I have very little experience with Moment.

ON3P is definitely more durable than moments. I've never ridden ON3P, but have broken 2 pairs moments and know people who have as well.

I would also say that ON3Ps are more durable.  Thicker edges and bases, and I've never seen a sidewall blow out on an ON3P.  Moments are also very tough and I'd probably put them at #2 or 3 on the list of "most bomber construction" probably right behind Praxis but they still can't fuck with ON3Ps who I would have at #1 for durability.

I have a set of caylors and jag sharks. On3p's are definitely beefier and seem more durable. Quite a bit heavier though.

Sorry to thread jack but are there any good places to get Icelantics? Evo has quite a poor selection and a lot of places don't carry them

I've had both, my moment rockers lasted 30 weeks of pretty hard use, like 6 days a week in the park.

I've done 2 weeks on my filthy riches and they've got a whole load of edge cracks, seems pretty normal though.

Never had any experience with moment but my Filthy riches have taken their fair share of punishment, especially after using them for urban i noticed that they had held up much better than my last pair of skis, which were invaders.

Stop comparing these Brands. Honestly all handmade skis like on3p, moment, praxis and Folsom and others will all be much higher quality and durable than mass produced skis mostly beachside of the quality of resources used in the skis. You really can't go wrong with and handmade pairs of skis.

i've had great experiences with both companies in terms of durability, but i think on3p takes the cake in terms of overall ability to take a beating and show no signs of it. i've owned 3 pairs of them and hit lots of things i shouldn't have and they're holding up great so far. my original billy goats certainly do not look 3+ years old

on3p= heavier but more bombproof

moments= lighter less swing weight

Icelantics= same weight as the moments but they use worse base material

I can say that ON3P are built to take punishment more than Moments. It is a fact that they do have the thickest bases out of any production skis at the moment. Their sidewalls seem a bit beefier as well.

It is also a fact that I ride both Moment and ON3P and have never had issues with either.

The way I see it...The only reason to buy ON3P over Moment is if you are riding urban where you need the best bases out there since you will be subjecting them to pavement most of the time.

Anyone else who rides all mountain and park will have zero issues with either of these skis. Obviously if you abuse either one both will break.

I can say that moments top sheets seems to get cut up a tiny bit more than my ON3P's but I can also say that my Moment PB&J's are by far lighter than my ON3P JMO's and they are more playful and fun to ride as well.

It comes down to what you are using the ski for. Don't buy ON3P just because everyone on here says to. My Moments are super dope and I stand by that.
