Hey i am thinking of buying a gh2 to compliment my 60d. Any one selling one for a good price? If not any other recommendations for a nice compliment camera for my 60d? I shoot video and it would be nice to have 2 bodies.
They are two different animals. 60D is great all around, gh2 is superior for video. If anything, get a gh2 for video and a 5d for photo, or a 5d for photo and use the 60d for back up photo and video depending on how much you want to do of each. I personally think it would be a bitch to use a 60d and a gh2, because first you have the issue of lenses, and then they also shoot in different codecs and simply look different. Also, I am keeping mine for now, maybe sell this summer and get a gh3, depends if I want to eat or not next fall at college haha
Very true. I only shoot video. Hmmm.... i am seriously debating selling my 60d for gh2 and some lenses but i dot know if im ready for the plunge. Do you like your gh2? Has it been a solid camera for the money? Im a little iffy jumping in to a new camera right now because the market is changing fast. But man would a gh2 be nice to shoot with.
It is the best. The quality is ridiculous, and it just makes everything look so sharp. Also I set mine so that it blinks if something is overexposed, really helpful for skiing. You can also use nearly any lens, and while it is cropped, it gives you usable dof, and it gives awesome reach for tele. As far as going wide, the kit lens is actually usable, but I just got the rokinon fisheye, and it is awesome. Also, af is usable with lumix lenses during video.
J-cal you wouldn't be disappointed with the GH2 at all, and this is
coming from someone who's owned Canon 5d, Gh1, Gh2, and now Gh3. I also own a
nex fs100, the gh2 takes no losses with any camera Ive used, with
video, it's my opinion, but I like the gh series cameras over the 5d,
7d, 60d
Seriously dude, the GH2 is FUCKING AMAZING. Not only is the body itself relatively cheap and a fantastic piece of equipment, the avalability of glass due to the miniscule sensor is outstanding. The camera can take all of the popular brands (Nikon, Sony, Canon, Olympus, etc.) it can take vintage lenses which can be bought for next to nothing (Most popular is Canon FD) that give a fantastic picture. The camera itself has almost limitless customization and while the menu system may be confusing that's the drawback of so many options.
