Do you guys ever talk to each other?

Let me preface this with: "When I was young..."

Everyone on newschoolers new each other. I'm talking ten years ago. There weren't too many members. It wasn't difficult to watch every video and check out every new photo. We'd know each other on a first name basis. We'd message each other, and meet up to ski. I met some rad dudes in Washington and went to visit them to ski "out west" for the first time. Pretty cool, right? I've met a ton of great friends on here.

But, do you guys meet up through newschoolers? Do you get rides to the mountain together? Have you ever gone on a newschoolers blind date? These are serious questions and I'm interested.

I've met maybe 4 people directly through NS and skied with them. Regionals help tons with meeting people.

Even today, you can count the freeskiing regulars at Martock on one hand. Wentworth is more skier based, though.

I have net a lot of ns'ers in the last 10 years, some of them were great, others were as rude or lame as they are online.
I have couch surfed at ns'er houses, skied with people and yes, I did go on a few ski dates. I met my husband on the snow, not online, so I guess is better to meet people doing the thing you love instead of just talking about it on the internet.

and dub post because I'm retarded.
I've only met 2 people from NS so far, the first one is B.Aussie who I visited when she was in a hospital close to my town injured after her crash. Meeting her was kind of surreal haha, but it was also so cool to finally meet her irl, since I never really thought I'd ever meet her, her living in Australia and all.

the other one was Dblunts, who lives in my town. I was walking home prettyyy wasted from a night out and I run into a few friends of mine who call out my name, and then I hear "Wilhelmina? Jane6 on NS??"
The whole situation was so absurd and we only talked for about 2 minutes, but since then we've been keeping close contact and will definitely meet up as soon as he comes home from Whistler.

This summer I'm going to the US solely to meet people from NS. Which is pretty random I guess haha. Hopefully I'll meet as many eastcoasters as possible, I'm beyond stoked to go there and finally meet the people I interact with on here on a daily basis.

it's pretty hard for europeans to find other NSers, that being said i did arrange an indoor skisesh with a canadian visiting belgium and i also once met up with an NSer in val senales...
as for all my real life friends that are also on NS, we just meet up via Facebook, email or cellphone ....

i talk to dudes all the time asking them for constant updates about the hill i go to. i've never asked for a ride, but i have met some really cool dudes on here. its like having over 180,000 best friends

Living in Park City, a lot of rad people pass through. I also see some friends post on the site, that I didn't expect to see post shit (looking at you, Elliot@ )

Will be going to Europe this summer, hope to meet some NSers over there.

haha this, I talk to Jamie on facebook more than anyone else. kid has helped me so much with photo/video/computer stuff, its crazy how similar we are.

I've made some solid e-friends on this site that I am FB friends with and regularly talk to/PM with. TheClap posts on my facebook all the time. Only NSers I've met up with were locals I was buying stuff from.

I love the kids on this site, mainly because I have a hard time finding kids in the real world who share my interests like the kids on here do. M&A is awesome, we're all skiers and we love photo/video, so I think a lot of us are very similar. The community on here is so awesome.

But the one thing that makes NS great is that no one takes themselves seriously on here. I often go on POTN and FM (photog forums) and there is massive amounts of information, but its very stale. There's no 'lets turn this thread into a NSFW thread!' happening or people calling each other out for that matter, so thats why i love this site so much. You can learn a lot and help people out, but NS wouldn't be the same if people took it too seriously.

Ive meet a shit ton of people on the mtn from NS, all have been chill. Also have meet a bunch of kids through NSG who came to parties I was have having. All and All its been a good time, met some chill people and made some solid friends.

Ive meet a shit ton of people through NS, haven't payed for a hotel in years because of NS.

Actually chillen with a kid now I met through NS (Gwhitey holla at cha boi)

I go to school with a few of them. PC's a pretty tightknit ski community so I see a lot of NS'ers up there. Like yesterday, gave knuckles to black Steve and shit.

Newschoolers has truly changed my life. I had just started skiing when I first found out about NS. I slowly learned how not to be a gaper, how to slide rails etc. Everything from small things like that, to big changes like moving to Utah, meeting new friends, and even finding my house that I live in. None of that would have happened without NS. I still occasionally meet new people through NS and I love it.

No, I can't remember ever meeting anyone on newschoolers, but my hill has very few newschoolers and i only go on weekdays.

met a few people from NS. Actually met my boyfriend when we both organized a meetup at our university. I think i've met more people while skiing who are on NS than meeting them on NS.
