So, its not the usual edit you will see on here, I tried to do something different and invest more time into this then most of my videos. We are shooting to produce 5 more throughout the season. Editing this one while balancing finals in school was really tough, so I know there are some flaws, but I learned a lot about how I want to do the future ones and there will only be improvement. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!

I loved it! Great job with the editing, good song choices, liked the vibe throughout. Only part I thought was a bit awkward was the way you had 10,000 Hours just fade out in the middle of a verse. Other than that, great job.

very cool the filming and skiing was great! liked the commentary too!

the only thing i will say i feel like you will have alot more views and followers if you more more frequent shorter ones, its hard keeping peoples attention for 15+ minutes, even though it was a very well done edit! but its really all up to what your trying to do! i thought it was very cool

Thanks, glad you like it. I see where your coming from with the length and for the rest of them we are shooting to do single location based episodes ideally about half that length. BUT on the other hand, I am trying to do something different that tells the story of the individuals In our crew as well as the unique place we live in. I personally think it is too easy and there are too many short edits with all skiing and no story or personality at all. So if people don't like it, that's fine but I am pushing myself to make this something more substantial and trying to challenge myself. I do agree though and am trying to never break 10 minutes with rest. Thanks for the input and keep your eyes out for more!

In a way I want to prepare myself for putting out actual films and I feel this is a good step in that direction.

Thanks! We mostly use 60d,'s and a 5d mark 3. Edited in Final Cut Pro 7

You should change your sound to an uncompressed format before putting them into your NLE. WAV or AIFF's work perfectly. The music pops when you put a heavily compressed file like an MP3 into an NLE then render it, compressing it more.

I am actually very glad you noticed that. I thought I was going nuts because nobody else who edited it with me said they could hear it! I thought I did that for all the songs but we missed the first one and by the time I was sure it was doing it, it was too late. I suppose I could change the Vimeo version and I might here soon but I just needed a break from it all right after haha. Does anyone know if you can change the video file on NS or YouTube like you can on Vimeo?

everything about that was sick! very well done. the only thing, and it's really small, i think if you had just a white coloured font at the end it would look more.. professional. it would just be nicer in my eyes, but i bet a lot of people would disagree anyways. once again that was great!

Right! i think its much more interesting when edits have personality, something more than just skiing whether its humor, or something like what your doing, i think that is a very unique trait and will definitely separate you from the rest!

Instead of just having your voice for the commentary i would have somebody film you or whoever is talking. In my opinion it would give the video a better vibe. But that was really, really cool. I loved the ending. Excited for the next one. Awesome job!
