Secondly, I'm sitting here getting my ass handed to me at work (and have been for quite some time now), and figured listing would be a bit cathartic / provide some comedy to the site / remind you younger members have to look forward to!

So... I'll start. I've worked 60+ hour weeks for the last 3 weeks, have come in the last two saturdays to catch up on work (i.e., missed jumps opening at Breck and Keystone), and will probably be doing this until the end of January. #PGP

Feel free to share / laugh at me / with me.

fuck. high school is so much easier than working a 8-5 day job. In high school all you have to worry about is getting your work done. at a job you have to worry about making your boss happy, getting your job done on time. and if you dont finish it on time you have to stay late. also paying bills sucks balls.

for all of you still in highschool/school fucking cherish it.

I wake up everyday a want to go back to high school to be honest, it's much better and easier/less stressful. You also get to see a bunch of friends not just a select few.

I like the freedom I get now since I graduated high school. School was a prison but I did appreciate the education I got.

i like the freedom easier. but being in highschool was so much easier than working a blue collar job. also the social aspect changes alot. in highschool you see plenty of people everyday but while your in the work force you dont have as much time to see people. its just a change.

I'm still in high school but I can't stop thinking about my future.
I had always wanted to be a computer engineer, but I am losing interest.
I recently decided I wanted to be a doctor after I was in the hospital for a while. (epiphany?)

I can't stop thinking about it and all the different things that could happen if I choose something that I don't really want to do.
I don't know, but I am scared to grow up. I'll admit it.
This might make me sound like a pussy, but I think about everything like paying bills, living by myself, and living away from my family. I with I was still in elementary school. :(

All I have to say is this - it'll all work out. You'll change your mind a million times by the time you graduate, and at that point it'll be what you want to do. And then once you get your first job you'll want to change that, find something else, and you will. It's good you're concerned about your future, it means you want to make something out of it. Just don't panic. There are points in your path where you make decisions and there is no "right" or "wrong" way, you build it yourself.

There's no room for change when you're working a dead end job trying to save up for post-secondary. If you quit then you're fucked and are set way back in your savings.

I just look forward to weekends, skiing, next summer, and going to the pool with my buddies every couple of days.

For real. I dont want to go back, but I just wish I knew how easy life should have been then. I would have done so much more knowing my decisions really didnt carry much weight. Thats the hardest part IMO about growing up after college, realizing your decisions and actions are going to actually carry weight into the rest of your life.

exactly. I chose this program knowing how much work I'd have to put in. yeah it sucks now, but in another 21 months when I'm done it'll be well worth it

In my opinion you all should stop bitching about your job (the thing that pays for everything). I graduated in may and am happy to work 60-70 hour weeks so I can do the things I wanna do. Forreal OP I missed jumps opening at keystone n breck also because I was working but I am not going to cry about it. Skipping responsibilities to do other shit is called college, it's time to grow up now. Like I said I am greatful to have my job and happy to work as many hours as possible. I have too many friends with degrees who can't find decent work and are stuck living at home with mom and dad still

Just graduated from UVM this past may and have been working for about 3.5 months now. Its a pretty cushy job. 830-430ish. Can really work however long as I want as long as I get my work done. I get paid a bunch but the problem is I never really have that much time to do anything. It sucks being forced into being a weekend warrior. Also the everyday routine gets boring supppppppperrr fast.

This so much. I look at the same 3 websites all day and its just getting old for me.

And to the people who say stop complaining, no. We wont stop complaining cause perception is reality or reality is perception, idk which way that one goes. But you get the idea... We all are going to complain about shit cause we don't know what its like to not have it. If the people without jobs got one they hated, I dont think it would take very long for them to jump in here and complain like the rest of us.

I just want a job where I wake up and am happy to go to work.

Not always true. One thing I'm trying to do that my Dad has always told me is, "Find something you really like doing, then find a way to make money doing it." Obviously you have to take that with a grain of salt cause everyone on NS would just say I like skiing so I wanna ski and make money. But maybe that means you become a marketing person for a ski resort cause you like advertising, or you become a tour guide for back country.

Either way I believe that Location > Job. I could be happy in a lower paying job if the Location is fucking awesome than a higher paying job in a shitty location.

sounds like we have a similar job. 9 to 4 errday with the same shitty dead end project, errday. granted ive been pretty neglected as a co-op and my coworks actually do some pretty alright schtuff.

only thing is, I am a temp so my future isn't completely grim here(sucks to suck boys/gals) there is still time to find a decent job that I love.

@dabearJoo location>>>job. truer words have never been spoken. my job pays very well yet being in Atlanta blows when your passion is skiing. however if I didn't love skiing so much I could see myself living in Georgia for a decent portion of my life.

well of course it's not always true, but for the most part it is. half the reason why certain jobs pay so much is because they have to in order to get people to do it. awesome kick ass jobs don't have to pay as much because so many people are willing to do them.

You really sound like a cock sucker. 70 hours a week is 14 a day add a commute an hour or two each way your up by 530 not home untill at least 11 or 12. Yea I've done it and you litterly have no time for anything else, so the money doesn't mean as much. And to the kid who said theyve done 85h a week in school studying since may is full of shit 100%.

lol. it's 3pm. I've been in class/studying since 8 this morning. I don't finish class tonight until 830. then I'm here until 11pm.

no I don't do this every day, some days I only work until 10.

and on the weekends, I put in only 9 hours each day, sorry.

I'm only studying medicine, I'm not so good at math.

How do you feel about complaining about a recently acquired job that you took only because it was all that was available and the job you have been working towards for a number of years in school isn't available or you don't have the in to get it?
