Why all the hate?

Newschoolers has so much hate on it. Why? I've been just browsing forums, and 80% of the replies are hate hate hate, and no help. Makes me bummed that as a skiing community we are giving each other such a bad name. Aren't we all supposed to be friends? You wouldn't say all this troll shit on the chairlift to a fellow skier right?

outside of NSG there is much less hate. I think the increase in trolls has hardened NS, especially outside NSG.

Seriously, there is plenty of other sites you can  troll. Youtube, and 4chan. But here? C'mon, were supposed to be a community of skiers. Lets not show the world that we are a whole bunch of selfish douchebags.

ten years, STILL NOT USED TO IT. it is the only option for the ski community, and should be represented better...if you try to change the devil the devil will change you....seriously, if you fight back or stand up for yourself you will be harassed by a flock of trolls which i believe to be admin, and at that point you are no better than anyone else...just another troll.

Because that's the way people are "raised" in NewSchoolers.  For example,  you were born into a big family of skiers.  For the most part all they do is live breath skiing.  There is a very good chance that you will become immersed in skiing yourself.

 The same could be said for NewSchoolers.  If all everyone does, particularly in NSG, is talk in snarky and sarcastic tones chances are good that you will also.  That's my take on it

this thread is the perfect example of what OP is talking about. On every thread there are atleast 3 assholes who feel the need to put down, threadjack, or dismiss someones ideas. When you see someone with NS gear in the real world, you get fucking pumped, but its like everyone on here is competing to be the coolest, smartest, person. Everybody should just appreciate the community that has been built for us because lets be real WE COULD ALL BE ON BODYBUILDING.COM FORUMS and that would FUCKING SUCK

So true. I think the problem is that people forget that they're communicating with other people. Its sad really... What if NS was attached to Facebook? I'm sure people would still be assholes but it would encourage a whole new level of accountability for the things you say.

There are plenty of online communities that are sarcastic and humorous, but its all done in good spirits and its not hateful. If someone posts something stupid it gets ignored and makes its way off the first page, it doesn't become an opportunity for people to validate themselves by tearing the thread creator to pieces.

I'll make fun of people jokingly because it's the internet but I don't think anyone from here has ever met me and thought I was a huge douche. I just come of that was sometimes. Hell most times there was even the smallest hint of any drama I sorted it all out with people in pm's.

The people that are seriously just hateful are def annoying though and there are some of those unfortunately. I think for the most part we got each others back. Lots of people from lots of different places and a large gap in age makes things interesting.

It's the internet, it happens everywhere. You learn just to ignore the idiots, laugh at some trolls from time to time, and make things better by making useful or helpful posts when you can.

Good tip for anybody that is new to this website: lurk for a year or so before you start posting. Get to know the website first and it'll save you a lot of trouble.
