what would be your plan/what is your plan for how you will contain/hide/keep the ticket until it is physcially delivered to the place you need to cash it in?

I just know that a lot of people have thought of this-- some haven't---but it's kind of fun. Like..what is your first 48 hour lottery plan.

Mine is:

Take the ticket and put it in a ziploc. Put the ziploc in my tranceiver pouch that straps around my person to my chest. Wear this under my clothing. Check in at a hotel in downtown Bellevue under an alias (that my family knows) and meet my family there. Determine a lawyer to hire. Speak to the lawyer remotely about options (ie: cashing under my own name or an newly acquired LLC.)-- pros vs. cons.  Then I havent determined the next couple of steps. I imagine have a family member drive me to Olympia first thing the next day, but I'd put the lottery ticket into a fire-proof container or garment in case there was a car accident or something.

What is your plan and/or the first thing you'd do.

Not really a re-post as answers change all the time.

Lol. But my plan would be to put it in my shoe. And then go buy another ticket, say that one was the winning one in case of it being stolen, etc.

Well I live in Whistler, im not sure where the closest place to cash it is so id probably not tell anyone till its cashed.

Id pay for a taxi to get me to Vancouver so I dont have to be asked any questions by anyone.

Id then pay for 2 first class ballin tickets to some warm place and just dip with my mom. Then eventually return to civilization, buy a house or two, a car or two, a RED or two, a Mac Book or two then live the rest of my life like a pimp.

nice-- at least you read the thread. Yeah, I've debated about who to tell-- I couldn't possibly keep it from my husband I dont think, but I also think id have to immediately tell my parents-- but then I run a risk of it getting out.

Do you tell people eventually? Or just cash it under a business name and keep it under wraps? I think id tell people I wont a couple of million, or just one million-- that way I can explain my new baller lifestyle, but I wouldnt tell people I won like 80 million.

well i dont think i would change my name or protect the ticket like a nuclear launch code haha but just tell my family, not announce publicly, get the cash in my account and leave the country to travel and not be harassed

I'd put it in my wallet and go to the place and cash it. I wouldn't tell a soul I won until after I cashed it. Even after I cashed it I'd only tell my parents and no one else for the rest of my life. Well, I'd tell my future wife about it AFTER we were already married. I wouldn't want anyone to know about my cash stash.

I'd probably donate some of it, and go on a nice vacation. Besides that I'd probably just put it away in an account and have a ballin' retirement. Use it here and there if I ever needed some cash. I'd probably also use it to purchase a modest house in cash and buy a new suby.

I genuinely don't care about having cool things, so I'd probably just keep it in an account for emergency purposes and use it to go on a cool trip once a year and travel when I retire.

I have a friend whose family won. It ruined their life. Father became an alcoholic and drink himself to death, the blew all of the money without investing in much other than a house. Now they're broke and the mother has to go back to work with only a few years worked towards her teachers pension.

I'd probably do the same thing. The last thing you want is a bunch of people knowing you won. Also, I'd probably live the exact same way i am now except with a few more luxuries.

id prob invest half, go to school for like 12 years and just be awesome. I'd probably tell almost everybody. I don't think as many people would mug for a ticket as you think.

Op you have the right idea with the lawyer and fake name, id also be going in with a relatively good disguise, would answer like 3 media questions and thats it. Ive watched shows were people will win the lottery and have terrible lives because they wont stop getting bothered.

They publish your name when you cash it in. This is why some people cash them in under dummy LLCs and such.

First thing I would do is hide lotta ticket on me at all times until it is cahsed with the money in the bank. Not tell a soul not even family. Once the cash is in the bank (assuming like $70-100mm), take a mil out or two and give it to my mom for all shes done for me, buy her house let her retire and pay for all expenses.

Go to top financial advisor who is close friend and give him money to invest in pretty safe investment maybe get like 7-8% a year back on it so I live on passive income for a while, but still growing money with some moderate risk.

Pay off college loans for family, buy myself a new jeep, and also a ZR1 love those things, buy bro and sister a car.

Leave money in hands of advisor for a year until hype settles down.

Living off of 3-4mm a year in income put rest away each year for future when i officially ball out real hard and go work for a while till like 30-40.

retire early, never tell wife about money, get a prenup upon marriage. Dont tell wife about money for like 10 years of marriage.

Ball out doing sick shit all the time after i accumlate a shit ton of interest on my money

I'd totally rather take it in payments over time. I know you get more money for your money if you take it all right away but with that much money coming in it doesnt really matter at that point.

most of you saying that you would cash it in and just put it in the bank. it's not exactly that simple. it could be but it's not really safe. every bank account is only insured up to $100,000 by the fdic and it's not like your going to go out and open 100 bank accounts. you would need to talk to a financial planner and get it all invested as soon as you could.
