Canon t3i - what lens

Hello brosephs, i'm planning to buy a canon t3i because i made bank over the summer and i'm looking for an upgrade from my gopro. so basically I have no clue what lens to look for because i don't know anything about cameras, I will be using it for basically everything; skiing, skateboarding, nature photography, sports photography, people, random shots of whatever , the usual

is there a lens that is just an all around good lens? do lens even specialize in certain things? do i sound retarded right now?

You'll love that camera, I know I do! I got it with the kit lens and it has consistently produced sharp images. I also picked up a 55-250mm f/4.0 at the same time to pick up where the kit lens left off, and its a stellar lens, especially for the price. So to answer your question, yeah the kit lens should certainly suffice.

Get the tamron 17-50 from crotch, its a steal and a very sharp lens. Other than that, it depends on what you want. You'll want something wider, if youre low on budget check out the rokinon 8mm and if you have more cash ($600) get the tokina 11-16. On the long end, check out an 85mm 1.8 and the 70-200 f4.

it's not an all-around lens at all, but I'd really suggest picking up the 50mm 1.8, it runs from $90-120 new and is one of my personal favorites
