Gonna be announced early september. Available in october. Whos getting one?

I have had the same 3gs for 3 years so I'm gonna pick one up for sure. If i get another iphone on the same carrier, can i swap between my iPhone 5 and 3gs just by swapping the SIM card? I wanna use my 3gs as my party phone when i go out at night.

Anyways. This video shows that the screen will be larger and the dock connector will be different. Anyone know of anything else? I hear there was gonna be an "iPhone wallet" app.

I heard that, because of the drastic change, somehow they'll have adaptors from the new to the old dock connector (I don't see how that would work on something like portable speakers though) But I don't really mind since I don't have any accessories. I'll wait till it comes out (sep. 12th apparently) but I think I'll get it by christmas time (have had a 3GS for like 3 years)

Sorry for the 2nd post but it also says that it will use sims even smaller than the ones on the iPhone 4, that's the only pain in the ass. When my father got the iPhone 4 right when it came out many shops ran out of mini sims pretty quickly (in Italy)

and its in the iOS 6 update for all iphones, so a plus in my book if i dont get and iphone 5

if it's a wallet app, then i assume the iphone 5 will be nfc enabled so you can have your bank account synced with your phone and use it as your credit card by touching it to a sensor pad in the store

Yup, this is my plan. I've had a 3gs for a while so the iphone 5 drop will allow me to upgrade for cheap as fuck. I usually stay one phone behind because i don't want to spend a ton on a phone.

I think the change in the charge port is a poor decision. Yeah, everyone is going to buy new shit to be compatible but it still sucks. think of alllll the money people have spent on ihomes, regular chargers and car chargers. now it's all going to have to be updated. sucks yo.

Oh, don't worry. I'm sure Apple will swoop in to save the day with a $50 adapter so you can use your new phone with your old plugs lol.

With that being said, I will most likely pick up the new iPhone. I've been holding out on an upgrade since March. Just wish they would release some concrete details about it.

You can cut a traditional SIM down to mini size just by printing off a template and spending a few minutes with a knife. Then you can buy a $3 adapter for mini to traditional size SIM cards to enable an easy swap back and forth between the two phones.

why? they are trying to make things thinner, so that is a easy way of improving it. not to mention the dock connector has been out for what, 10 years? I think its time for an update

cheapest new ipad is $499?
The 7 inch tablet market is huge. Kindle fire, nook, etc. The ipad mini will be 7.85 inches which adds quite a bit of screen space while staying in the 7 inch category.
plus it will hover around 199-299.

It will cannibalize yet another marketplace that hasnt even been made into a marketplace.

glad I bought apple stock at $133/share.

what really sucks about the iphone 5 is my guess is that even if you get the adapter that will have to pay a kidney for, you will plug your phone in and see that "THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS DEVICE". anyways, apple has always been really good at making you feel bad about your christmas present in february, so i'm not suprised.

i like my iphone. its has gamboy, snes, sega, i get apps for free, i can tether its internet to my laptop, and lots more. android rooted doesnt seem that great

I can literally do all of that on my galaxy s3. And the screen is huge (which isn't for everybody). But after owning this phone for a month or so, I just can't use anything smaller. The first time I picked up my old itouch after using this phone for a couple days, it felt soooo tiny. Jailbreaking the iPhone frees it from the restrictions of iOS, but there's really no need for the average person to do that to their android device.

Except droid phones by Motorola, my friends have done nothing but complain about them.
