i met some lifties one day after riding at whitefish and they took me to come of the secret trails they had been building around the hill and they were sooo sick, so many ladders and silt steeps.

I ride an 08 Kona Stab Deluxe with all stock parts and I love it.

I mostly ride Deer Valley or Park City, but shuttle rides in Draper, LCC are sick too. The trail association happened to build a freeride trail like 100 feet from my house, so I do that one quite a lot (my friend's video of said trail):

That trail looks really fun for something close to your house. I've got a network of trails practically in my backyard but they're mostly flat.

Anyone going to the colorado freeride festival on July 28th? I'm gonna try and make it up there to watch the slopestyle.

It was my first full face, not the best looking imo but it will get the job done. Also the pads aren't removable, but if your not riding every day with it it shouldnt be a big deal.

depending on what type of riding you will be doing, i would highly recomend getting a higher quality helmet. in another few weeks alot of shops will be clearing out there inventory for the 2013 gear coming in. Spend the extra money to protect your head.

would highly recomend one, not really worth the risk of crippling your face. + a full face will protect the back of your head better alot better then a hard shell.

yesterday in whistler, i broke my right wrist,tore ligaments in my left hand, and got 5 stitches in my right knee. today, my friend broke his collar bone and suffered a pretty bad concussion. and you can bet your ass it was worth it. but anyway, yes i also miss biking.... already!

anyone here ride with a neck collar? I am considering getting one but the pressure suit I have right now is not really compatible with the neck collar so that is why I am debating it because I'm going to have to drop a shit ton of money to get the neck brace and new armor. thoughts? anyone ride with it in adition to a non compatible pressure suit?

If you are going to get one, maybe consider one of the Troy Lee or 661 chest suits. They don't have hard plastic protection on them but they will still keep you safe and they are designed to fit with a neck brace.

I would highly recommend a neck brace. Some high speed crashes could really fuck you up bad. I wear one and it probably save my neck and head a couple times. For a general good rider its pretty much as important as the helment I think. I have sold and recommended neck braces to several people. They're everywhere now in the east.

in other news, duthie hill yesterday was way too sick. except it was over 100 degrees here in seattle somehow so biking up the xc trails in my downhill bike was a bitch

I know most dh mtb ers don't use/buy tires from Giant. They lie about being puncture proof. I got 3 flats in 5 days just riding around town on some dirt trails and sidwalks.

Fuck I miss mountain biking.

Didn't have the fanciest bike. I had a Devinci Kicker (05) with a Jr.T on the front. I biked in Golden, BC. So we have Kicking Horse in the summer, along with Mt 7. Both full of downhill trails.

I tore the ligament connecting my ulna to my wrist while mountain biking 5 or so years ago. I haven't really been out much since. If I have, it's been to Kicking Horse, renting a full suspension.

I want to get back into it so badly. Maybe next year.

I've always wanted the Cove STD. Would probably just get a frame and build it up though.

I was down in Bend a few weeks back, camping and spending a lot of time on the trails outside of town. That place is amazing, and I will definitely be heading back down again soon. It was super hot when we were there, so we were getting on the trails around 7am to make the best of the cool temperatures. Other than that, super fun, flowy, and exceptionally fast trails all over the place.

Which jumps are those? I know the Phil's Trails area has some very large jumps set up not far from the main parking area, saw them as we were heading back to the truck from a long ride.

Puncture proof doesn't mean flat proof. The 2 general ways to get flats are thorns and "pinches," where you're running too low of a pressure in the tube, so when there is a significant impact, the tube gets pinched by the rim and a hole is made. If you take the tube out and find 2 holes right next to each other, then you probably got a pinch flat and should run a higher pressure.

Sick video!!  I rode here around 2 weeks ago.  Jimmys mom to Parallel Trail was awesome, especially the mx style jumps at the bottom of jimmys mom.  We also rode lithium which was one of my favorite trails.
