Olympic soccer

I love soccer and have played all my life but don't pay enough attention to the pros..so can someone answer this... the olympics are coming up obviously.. what do the teams look like for each country, that is, are they basically the national teams we'd see in the world cup? i dont know what the state of affairs with pro vs amateurs in olympic soccer is

The GB team sounds abismal from what I've heard, we have players from West Brom and Middlesborough.
David Beckhams not been picked for the squad either.

My school have tickets for Nigeria VS Argentina (apparently) in the group stage however.

It's very mickey mouse. squads can only have 3 players over the age of 23. and domestic leagues are probably started by the time. look at the Great Britain squad for example, i watch a ton and only recognize a few players.

it's probably still exciting but not exactly prestigious.

and it's football wtf is soccer?

it's pretty much a showcase for the up and coming players of the world due to the age restrictions on the teams

Im sorry I dont know which football you are talking about.. The football that you use your feet for everything and 2 players use their hands, or the football that you use your hands for everything and 2-4 players use their feet...?

Olympic soccer is totally irrelevant. Mostly younger players and over the hill guys are on the teams. All the biggest stars are resting up for the start of next season. Countries that played in Euro 2012 will field especially weak sides at the Olympics.

^Except for Germany who as far as I know has a very young team in most positions. They should go way far after that disappointment against Italy.
