Best editing software?

OK so my editor quit on me so now i gotta start editing myself. i film with a descent camera and got 60fps. i'm looking for an editor that is relatively easy to use since i'm a beginner, and i'm hoping to get the most out of the 60fps so something that is good with slow-mos.

So i'm on PC and i know of iMovie and sony Vegas Pro X but i here that iMovie is not for pc and vegas pro is like impossible to install. i dont realy care how much it cost so if anyone knows which would be the best editor, would love your input, thanks.

Why not? i made this with it and in my opinion it works out just fine. Super easy to use.

ya everyone has been telling me that but all i could find on PB was CS5.5 . any major differences?

Since you're on a PC, a combination of Premier Pro and basics in After Effects are going to give you just as good of a result as Final Cut Pro. Final Cut has some effects and options that Premier does not, but all are pretty easily done in after effects. As soon as you start learning after effects, your options are nearly limitless... until you start needing Maya... then fuck, you can go work for any hollywood studio.

Back on Subject. Premier and a good encoder like Sorenson Squeeze. + After Effects

I think I just got hard for video editing. I need to get myself a camera again. Editing deprivation.

ok i got all that except for one thing: is after affects like a pre-installed program for pc or do i have to download it to?

first of all, that is a great video, kid can ski.

I think I fell out with Final Cut X because I was so used to Final Cut Pro 7 (The last version before they redesigned it) and got put off by the new style. I probably didn't give it a fair shake in all honesty, I just went over to Pr Pro CS5.5 because it reminded me of my old final cut.

At the end of the day, its a question of what works for you and what you're comfortable with, even if that may be ahem.. Windows Movie Maker.. ahem.. (but seriously don't use that) (no jokes) (is Sony Vegas still around?)

I'm just wondering why. Is there a better editing software for mac with any major differences? I know premiere, but what else is there thats worth the risk of getting caught torrenting?

i know a lot of people who did what you did, hated FCPx because you were used to The older versions, but i downlaoded FCPx as my second editing program.. ever.. after imovie.. So it was a major upgrade for me.

Not necessarily, depends on which one you get. It's in Creative Suite Extended I believe. Otherwise the standard creative suite doesn't include premier or after effects.

You can likely do a manual install and skip flash, in design, fireworks, and dreamweaver. You would only use those to make a flyer/brochure or shitty website.

Final Cut Pro is industry standard for Macs. But Final Cut X was a bit of a let down. I prefer the prior release. Final cut pro as a UI feels a bit more natural if you are used to Macs.

At the moment, I prefer the former Final Cut to current premier (haven't tried 6 yet). Next Final Cut might blow premier out of the water, but we'll have to see. what happens.

If you want the latest and greatest, I'd see what Premier 6 has to offer. I have very little experience with Avid, but I've heard some good things about that (also some bad).

I use cs5.5 and like it, but I have no idea how to use after effects or if I even want to, lets be honest I don't even know what it does! My editing only consists of trimming clips and adjusting speed anyway

youtube has some great tutorials for diffrent kinds of editing programs. Googling non-ski related questions usually has more 'effect' than asking on a skiing forum.
