this. the first people i ever smoked with were co-valedictorians and the salutorian at my school, my class president, the valedictorian and class president of a school near me. the smartest kid i know goes to his classes tripping balls on acid because "it gives him a challenge" otherwise he is bored in class.

I agree with you. I'm 21 and never have either, and I never plan on it. Seriously I don't get the point of it. I don't have anything against people who have smoked, if that's their thing then that's fine, but i just don't care to myself.

if other people smoke, i don't really give a shit. i just see it as something i don't need or desire to do. i see weed as just another thing to waste money on that isn't necessary. if you need weed to be happy or to enjoy time with friends, well... i just feel plain bad for you. i'm not saying weed is always used for those purposes, i just don't think the effects of weed are worth paying for.

I've never smoked weed and i dont plan on it, but cant stand it when kids give these sorts of reasons that their health teacher told them. How does the act of other people smoking weed affect your life? 90% of the time it doesnt, so stop being condescending and live your life while letting other people live theirs

Also I would very much appreciate if you could link me to a non-government commissioned study which shows a direct relationship between instances of lung cancer and smoking weed. I'll say the same for thoughts of suicide. Headaches are rare and generally only occur in those who are predisposed to migraines because weed can lower blood pressure. Fatigue is a short term thing that doesn't really make a reason not to smoke, that's like saying don't drink because of hangovers except the fatigue with weed is nice if unwanted. Anyone smoking weed to be cool is a goon, yeah the "cool kids" might smoke weed but a lot of nerdier kids might to. Smoking to chill out is fine, everyone has their method of relaxation: for a lot of people it might be watching some tv or playing farmville or whatever. Your judging personality based on the bullshit you were taught in health class makes you look ridiculous. Look up some legitimate studies and see that the detrimental effects of weed are minimal at best. Alcohol's worse, cigarettes are worse, lots of things are worse. Heck, my mom's bejeweled addiction is arguably worse. Get off your high horse and realize that your personal decision to not smoke doesn't make you better than those who do.

Haha I smoke weed all the time with the President and Vice President of my school. I also drop a lot of acid and shrooms with the vice president. Everyone in the school government does drugs and they are smart as hell going to top notch colleges. Drugs unlock hidden doors with in your brain. You are able to get a better understanding of yourself and a look at the world through a different eye.

I never have, and probably never will.

Most of my mates smoke. Half of them that smoke most days and are still motivated to get stuff done (go to lectures, study, etc). But the other half that smoke every day have absolutely no motivation to do anything. They wake up at 2pm, smoke and game till 4am and repeat. So they never go to lectures, fail their exams, and miss rent payments because they have spent all their money on pot.

So I am half half about it. If you do it on moderation and it doesn't affect work, study etc etc than all good. But when all your life resolves around is getting high (which it is for a lot of my mates) I think it is absolutely retarded.

- It cuts of important brain connections.
- Causes panic attacks (I don't give a fuck if you've never had one. My friend did, he almost died. Fuck off)
- You're inhaling smoke. Most retarded thing ever. That smoke sits in your lungs, for hours. Cigs may be worse but this is bad.
- Your heart rate increases, and you know what? that's a much bigger chance for a heart attack.
- And if your brain isn't fully developed, like any type of smokes, or thing that hurts the brain, IT FUCKS WITH YOU PERMANENTLY.
- It has been shown to stunt the growth of some tumors, yes, BUT MAKES OTHERS GROW.

It's little shits like you that make me so pissed on this site. Do some research. The whole " Alcohol - and - cigs - are - worse" argument is invalid. It isn't fucking relevant! Not at all! That's not what I'm arguing about! jesus god you're dumb.

you are right, all that bullshit research on pot IS biased... by the government. Please link me to a study that shows weed "cuts off important brain connections" that is a non government study. At least it doesn't cut off the unimportant connections otherwise us potheads would be in serious trouble!

Also this whole post was completely unnecessary. He asked if you drink alcohol because you said you don't smoke so you won't end your life early. All he was trying to say was that alcohol kills people, weed doesn't. So don't say "I give a shit about my life. Why end it early?" Because it does not end it early, alcohol is much more likely to do that. And you decides to go nuts and rant about bullshit health class propaganda on weed.

Technically any form of smoking increases your chance of lung cancer. however marijuana smoke has been proven to be significantly lower than smoking tobacco.

And to the retard that said that the "alcohol and cigs are worse argument is irrelevant" how the hell is it irrelevant? it is a commonly known fact and nobody argues it.

Weed does not cause panic attacks, it just doesn't. my friend also almost died from some sort of panic/anxiety and it was because she was drinking and someone slipped her something. she then took a hit or two and she was fine. i am not saying that it was the safest choice to help her, but its what she wanted because she gets panic attacks frequently and weed calms her down

As I'm reading the shit you put up, the Vanderbilt one is sketchy as hell. Written by a student, some of those studies are 20 years old. And guess what? Most of the tests showed that pot DID impair people. The chode who wrote it also said that "those people could've just been dumb anyway" which is probably the most horseshit i've read in a while.

the Cancer article? Irrelevant. I was saying it did help stunt some tumors but help others grow. I never said it made cancer happen, dumbshit.

I have to disagree with this one unfortunately. Weed definitely can soothe stress and anxiety but for some people it can also cause paranoia. I've gotten really high then had a panic attack because after talking to my parents while high I felt like they knew (they didn't). I proceeded to curl up in a ball and feel like I was going to vomit, but that passed.


To the idiot who said "my friend had an anxiety attack and almost died" that's absolutely fucking wrong. Your friend might've been freaking the fuck out and it could've seemed like he was going to die but that was just the paranoia I was referring to above. Sometimes while high a bad idea gets in your head and it's hard to stop thinking about it to the point where it seems like your doomed. The same effect could probably be achieved by reading scary stories alone in the dark woods at three in the morning. You know it's probably irrational, but there's no stopping those crazy horrible thoughts.

He's an easygoing kid, and he tried weed. he bought it off of some kids from my school, and it was a little bit, like 2 grams. he was chill for a little bit, and then he started to, like you said, curl up in a ball. He started to cry. he got up, ran around a little bit, then curled up again. we couldn't wake him up. So you guys are jackasses if you think i'm lying. It affects people differently. jesus christ.
