This idea came to me and thought it might be worth posting. Some of you might feel really strongly about your work and don't want to have anything to do with it, that's cool.
I was thinking that between the members of NS m&a forum, we could sell eachother right to use video clips. I'm not thinking skiing shots here, moreso shots that you might use for work/in a clients video (this could be skiing?, I just know we're all really passionate about our skiing shots and don't want to sell ourselves short)
Now, I know the industry standard per clip is so-and-so amount of money. This is more just to make a little extra cash and save the other person a little money from buying the rights off a website like shutterstock, etc. I'm not sure what the law is when it comes to these sorts of things, so if someone wants to chime in that'd be great..Some of us could really mutually benefit from this.
To start things off:
I'm looking for corporate city shots (people walking around in suits, shots of sky scrapers, timelapses etc). Also looking for shots of databases/IT/cable wires, anything of that nature.

So I'm thinking this thread will be to post what clips you are looking for. If someone feels they can help you out, they can send you a sample clip before deciding if it's worth paying for the rights

I'd love some shots if you would do that for me.
I'll compensate you with exposure and a resume booster.

so here's the only issue I see. I don't have the money to pay for a day of shooting in boston for you. After gas, food, etc. it really wouldn't be worth your time. I'm also going to be pretty picky about what shots will work with the video. (it is a client video-- not saying your shots won't be good shots, but sometimes they might just not fit with the content of the video-- these videos are very content driven).
As for now, I'm mostly just looking for clips that people have already shot. I'd feel way too guilty having someone drive into a city only to realize none of the shots they got will work for the specific video I'm working on. I wish I had enough money to not have to worry about it, but unfortunately that's not the case.
so for now, if anyone has shots city shots, city timelapses/anything having to do with IT. i'd love to check out some shots

bump because I'm looking for some shots of Diamonds for a client video. If anyone has a macro lens and a nice table/display and decent lighting. Some really nice close-up shots of diamonds, panning with tripod/slider. I need to fill about 15 seconds with this shot. some large .rar/jpgs would also be a plus.
I'm thinking 10$ if it's what I'm looking for? obo?

yeah no thats fine! I wasn't going to ask for payment for travel, gas, etc, more of it's an excuse for me to go and shoot around the city, and if I have some stuff for you at the end of the day that you may or may not use then thats still fine haha.
Don't think I have any diamonds in my house though :\

i'm taking that is sarcasm, but I'd like to actually hear your thoughts on it because I was weary of making it in the first place. If you bring up some really good points I have no problem getting this thread deleted

nonono, I am being serious. no sarcasm. there are a lot of talented people here, in a lot of different places and all with a more modern/artistic approach to such shots than what you would find in stock footage libraries.

for sure. Also, after awhile you start archiving clips that you might never use, so this is a good way to use those shots and get a little money while you're at it. If anyone else is looking for any specific clips/or know they will be in the future post up!

nice idea. this would be useful for things like timelapses and such, which are a pain to film.

are you talking about a compilation or just a long ass single shot?
most of my shots took 30-45 mins, but if you're going from day to night or whatev you're obviously gonna be out there for a long time, probs with 10 sec intervals
All times are Eastern (-4)
