this. I've already told my fiance to read it. Just started chapter 9. so far here are my thoughts:
- poor writing. this girl doesn't act 21. why is she 21 and getting drunk for the first time? boring, boring, boring...end of chapter 8 WHOA! do want, will keep reading.
still wondering if i should read this at work on my lunch break or if I should assume that anyone who sees me will know what it is...
Maybe I'll hide in a bathroom stall.
haha, you're right!
Ok-- so the book is worth reading if you basically have nothing else better to do. If you ride the bus to work or you have down time at work or something along those lines, it is entertaining. This is by no means any sort of literary masterpiece, however.
Good parts: It takes place in Seattle, and since I live in Seattle it made the story more real to me and more exciting. At one point they're at a party that is only a block from my house. The sex scenes are entertaining and it's nice to read something that is a little edgy. There is more than one book--it's a series-- so if you finish the first book and liked it, there is more. The second book is way better than the first-- the plot actually gets exciting and it becomes a mystery.
Bad parts: The girl is so annoying. The words she uses are irritating, she becomes really repetitive and her insecurity gets old. I found myself wishing her character was more intelligent. She is immature and has no back bone-- although I guess this fits with her role in the book as a submissive. The sex scenes are repetitive-- you may even find yourself "fast forwarding" through them.
All in all- worth reading if you like smutty chick flicks and racy scenes. Not worth reading if you can't get past the poor writing and appreciate it for it's pure trashy entertainment value.
